gday guys, ive read around about the mini me conversion and has a degree of knowledge.

ive got a D16Y4 and considering the mini me conversion i was just wondering what head would be better to use, the Y1 or the Y8?

also ive head about a D series engine that is double overhead cam, is there a vtec version of it and what would be the benifits of using this if any?

could u also give some info on what other items i would have to get to do a mini me conversion, im aware that i have to get a P28 ecu but thats all i knw.

thanks for the help guys i really appreciate it!

DOHC is like the D16A8... no vtec in DOHC d's, because that's what a B series is.

plus, u don't HAVE to get a p28 ecu, can also use the p2p... apparently p28 are just a bit simpler and better for tuning

You need Y8 head, Y8 timing belt, Y8 dizzy, P2P/P28 ECU (best off going P28, which will require a OBD2 -> OBD1 harness ~ $180) and VTEC solenoid if its not included with the head. Then you also have to do some rewiring for the VTEC. I was initially going to do this before i researched the possibilities. Not worth it if you ask me.

yeah i heard its like a gain of like 7kw or sumthing,

but im going to have the car awhile and am not prepared to spend 3 grand on a B18C.

plus like i can pik the parts up cheap and im doing all the labour myself.

also if you go the p2p ecu you'll have to do some extra wiring like add or bypass 2ndary o2 sensor and knock sensor etc
you'll still also need a wiring harness
as for which ecu is cheaper... i got no idea!

also you'll wanna read this (http://www.jdmuniverse.com/forums/showpost.php?p=407472&postcount=1) if you havent yet. not 100% relevant (as its done on a US Y7) but still very usefull!!

P2P is OBD2, which uses 2 o2 sensor.
His car has 2 o2 sensor so no issue there, but you will need to add a knock sensor for P2P.
