yes , its a recall from honda due to grease leaking from the steering column to the brake switch connector creating a short.
they will replace the switch and put a rubber cover over the switch to protect it.
note : nothing wrong with grease around the steering column. just that some made its way down to the brake switch.

LOL, how slow is Honda Australia. I called them up on 10-09-2007 as shown in the above thread and they knew nothing about it. Also quoted the government recall site and they still had no clue about it. Then my question is, who puts the recall information on the recall website?

call honda

call honda

I already have back then. They knew nothing about it. Of course they would know now. Hope so anyways :D
But seriously, who puts the recall info on the recall website? I would have thought Honda Australia or Honda main head office would supply the info???

the site did show the vin range. Mine happens to be there :(

Dam, gotta find time to get this thing fixed up. Only weekend free. Is the problem referring to when you press the brake pedal, the rear lights dont come on?

in autos, if your switch fails, you shouldn't be able to get out of park.

^if yours is an auto, you'll know it has failed right away... you won't be able to get out of gear. Or if you want to test it, when you press on your brake in park, press it slowly and you'll hear a click, if it clicks, it means it still working.
