Hey guys
Does anyone know the law in regards to T-wing spoilers and the thickness they need to be?
I got stickered today, apparently my spoiler was too thin and the minimum width is 15mm... can anyone clarify this?

I would be surprised if there is any law stating that you can have a spoiler such as this on ur car, i would say they will find a reason to dick you for it, no matter the width.
My mate was told his was "dangerous" if he hit a pedestrian, as it could cut them up if they rolled over the car!!

Yeh i had GT wing on my car too. The cop said that it could slice the pedestrian if i ran over them and went over the car to the spoiler. hahahahaha

aaahhh.. not funny dude. the law for this is there for that exact reason because there has been cases... maybe not in Australia...
if a bird can dent the a-pillar @ ~60km/h imagine a person going through a 2mm thick spoiler at even 20km/h.
Just as a bit of info.. did you guys realise that "Broadswords" are blunt edge weapons used in the midieval days to not slice a person but to butcher them

T-Wings are defects....legally, practically and aesthetically.

Especially aesthetically
What looks worse is when a lancer just has the mounts left, like "i'm so tuff, i only put it on when i'm dragging"

hahaha Yeah i got told the same thing by the old coppa "If u hit someone and they go over the car....."
Let alone i have been driving with it for a year on and no problems... the previous owner drove it for a year with it on aswell and no problems. Just depends what cop you get.
He also said that the foils on the end have to be 15mm thick, would this have the same effect on someone as a 5mm thick foil?

i love t wings
lol got a photo? just curious to c how it looks..
as for the mounts being left on the car; i always thought they were left there cos they didn't want to remove it and have a hole in their bootlid.

Yeah, but wouldn't you rather have some little gromets or squares of tape, than those stupid pieces of "scaffolding"

ive been done for it as well, every part of the spoiler has to be 10mm thick.
i leave the mounts on the car cos i cbf taking them off
^^ i did have those little plug things to fill up the hole but when i went to tafe ppl stole them.. stupid A$$ loosers

I think the mounts look better than grommets which aren't perfectly colour matched or fitted. Although ideally, a totally clean sheet would be best :)
As a tip, maybe try using a stronger adhesive/sealant? I believe BK used windscreen adhesive on mine to get it to stick.

yeah but would you rather the $5 grommets stolen or the ****ers peeling your paint too in the process?
same with tyre valve stem seals... let the ****ers have em.. you can get ones that lock that need a key of sorts to unlock em

Ive got done for the wing 3 years back. Same excuse of beheading or slicing some one open lol. So i told the cop if a car hit some one at the speed of slicing some one open then the wing isnt the main concern of injury lol.
