spitting sound

hi. i was wondering if anybody knows if it is common to hear a spitting sound coming from a engine/car. it is usually heard when accelerating and it has been like that for a few months, since i bought the car. it is a manual EJ8. thanks for any info guys

well the only thing that comes to mind would be fuel. but im not very knowledgeable with cars lol

pretty out there suggestion but get someone to check if your timing is out or not

my sisters gli eg sounded like it had a heart murmur and it turns out the timing was out, readjusted and it was fine after that
