The stock tyres for the 95 Accord VTI are 195/60 R15 88V. So make sure you keep the same rolling diameter as 195/60 R15 and go for at least 88 or higher load rating and V or higher (W or Z) speed rating. You LEGALLY cannot use H rated tyres on the Accord.

thanks aaronng for your quick and detailed response.

was just checking tyres prices, and there is $55 (each) price difference between H and V rating Michelin tyres.

i think need more research on prices.

any idea how good Yokohama and Toyo are?

i just use car for day to day family kind of driving.

I use Yokohama C.Drive for daily driving (Astra). It's good, quiet, safe in the wet and lasts for quite a fair number of kms. Gripwise, it's better than most of the stock tyres used on Honda cars (except the S2000, NSX and Type Rs). I actually got the 195/60 R15 which are rated at 88V, which is the same size as your Accord and has an acceptable load and speed rating. I bought mine from Bob Jane in Sydney about 2 years ago for $150 each, so I got the high end of the price. You should be able to do the same or a better price than that since you are located in Melb.

For my Accord Euro, I will be switching to Bridgestone RE001. It's supposed to be grippier but the tradeoff is more road noise and a slightly softer compound. I got a price for these but in 205/55 R16 though, so it's a different size to what you need. (Priced at $210)

Try calling up your local tyre shop for prices.

thanks aaronng, a local Tyre shop quoted me price of Yokohama for $130 each, but not sure if they are C.Drive or not. will check this out with them.

tyre shop guy was also very excited about Yokohama, but i did not know anyone before using Yokohama.

bridgestone turanza is a good budget tyre, low road noise, good wet grip, and tread wear is excellent.

im sure you can get them for under $130 for that size (195/15/60)

i used 215's on my stock accord wheels. seems fine to me..

i kept my tire height 55-60

works great! stops the tire walls flexing.

or.. get new wheels and tires.. works best :)

dont wanna spend too much money on wheels and tyres. i reckon tyres are necessary for family car atm.

so with 215 you are not voiding insurance?
