Hi all im looking to turbo a d16y4 i got a new engine coming in 13 weeks so basically am looking to fry the d16 is a t88 to big for a d16? as i can get one for a few hundred off a mate or should i go a smaller turbo and just use it on my b18 as well? basically will a t88 work on a d16 and if not whats a good sized turbo that will work on both.

t88? forget it
you'll come upon full boost probably never.
and 3540 turbo comes onto boost on 7kish on a b16a motor, and that's smaller than a t88
lol
lol

go for a t28.

T28 or T25G

If its standard compression i would go the bigger turbo as it will spool faster and reach max boost earlier.

Yeah the t28r or a t25G would be good for you. Good all round performance.

Depending on your budget, i'd try and get a ballbearing one also

what destrukshn said - good luck reaching full boost on a t88. some models in that range rate up to 1000hp, and t88's are relatively common on single turbo GTR conversions.

something that works will on a 2.6l engine is not going to be efficient on something with 1l less capacity...

a t88 wouldnt even fit in your engine bay...

do a little research on the net, a lot of the americans have been turboing the civics for ages... the most popular turbos are T3/T4s, T25s, T28s and TD04s

since the d16 is a 1.6L go look at other 1.6L turbo cars and see what they are running for a general idea of what you should run
