I have created a weightloss guide which can be seen on my DOHC-VTEC website. It is on the Resource (http://www.dohc-vtec.com.au/pages/resource.htm) page as a tutorial.

Or you can go straight to the following link.

Instead of taking everything out and making ur car look hobo'ish and shit... why don't u just buy a car that is fast to begin with?

Its a track car its not meant to look pretty. Function over fashion. And a 750kg car with a B16 engine is quick enough. Do the figures its power to weight ratio is better than a type r and you can have one for just over 5 grand including the car, mounts, engine, trans.

think about the power to weight ratio. losing the weight on the car is far more better then trying to increase the power. and it doesnt cost a cent to make your car faster by stripping it yourself.

If you want a fast car, you want a good power-to-weight ratio. You want lots of power and minimal weight. So the first place to start is by cleaning out your trunk!

Think about power to weight ratio.

My car originally: 850kg, 118kw: 7.20kg/kw
After being stripped: 750kg, 118kw: 6.35kg/kw

So if I didn't strip my car, for me to get the same power to weight ratio I would need to get about 135kw, another 17kw over original. Thats headers, high flow cat, cat back exhaust, muffler, air filter + more.

For good parts thats over $3000 + installation

It cost me a day and $0 to strip my car.

every 45kg you took out from the car it will gain 0.1 or 0.2 down the 1/4 mile.

ekslut is your car road registered?

and btw, i know you need to register the car as a 2 seater if you take out the back seats, but is there anything to say what you NEED in your car. besides a spare and a jack. can a cop defect you for not having plastic mouldings, roof lining, or centre console for example??

ekslut
06-06-2005, 08:23 PM
Yes it is road registered. But I haven't gone to get it engineered yet though (still not finished). But I will get it engineered as a 2 seater, and with the new engine.

I think you can be defected for not having plastics. but it depends on the cop. I have the rear of my old EK4 stripped and a cop never said anything when they saw it.

I need to find a engineer to see what I do need in the car, but I wouldn't think that you would need plastics, console or roof lining.

i think the obvious things you need is door trim, dashboard, carpet (im abit iffy about this), and some plastics...

i stripped a car once (completely gutted) and my dad (driving it) got defected for it. the cop felt bad cause he thought my dad was poor (it was an OLD car) so he gave him a warning defect. lol

hahaha @ being poor. was it completely gutted, like no door trim etc...?
i really want to know cause i come from THE LAND OF DEFECTS (Knox) so i cant take any chances.

its best to speak to an engineer mate, the laws change all the time. thats youre best bet.

and yes i had all of the plastics, door trims, air con unit, centre console and carpet out. i think i only left the roof lining in the car. i cant remember if i ripped off both bumpers but the car was a sore for sight eyes.
