Dump the D16 and go to a B series motor for serious performance. Otherwise Intake/Header/Exhaust is a good start .. you might get another 10-15bhp if you do that combo right.

yeh i agree go for a pod or air box (if you want it legal still) and maybe go 4 extractors and full exhaust or even cat back would be enough...
but yeh search OZHONDA man there is so much in there hiding in the threads you're bound to find what you're looking for, seriously.
ps. do B16 conversion youll kick everyone's ass

Its a bit of a joke with a few D16 powered owners , Juz whenever n e one asks about more power BAM put in a B16 is the first answer... look at the amount of money it costs to do the conversion and most times the gains arent to much more as all money is spent on the basic swap. Spend 4K on the existing motor and you can get some decent gains from your D series. My 2 cents is all :) No mean intentions meant dude[/url]

Pretty much true, on a D16 u can do a nice mini me swap which will also give u vtec and ur motor will also be slighlty lighter. Plenty of mods u can do with a D series engine which will cost the same price as b16 swap.

Plus small improvments on the D series won't blow a hole in your budget right away.
Starting with
-CAI's
-Larger Throttle body
-Intake manifold
-Headers & Exhaust

and then onto greater and better things once u have more money to spend

sohc vtec sucks. why do u want a 10.5 compression mini-me for anyways?

I have a real B16A powered SiR and I'm with luzinit - the B16A is not all that people make it out to be. B18C yes, B16A no.

BTW - problems are always an issue if it's not done right - on the other hand, my 100% stock factory original B16A now has 275,000kms on it and is still going strong - and I have only changed the timing belt and done services to it - everything else is as it left the showroom floor in 1990 :)

bah b16a is still pretty much a torqueless POS if ur are going to do a conversion save it up for the b18c

Andy if ppl spent the same amount of money doing an engine conversion on the D series u could get the same results.

That's if u wanna still stay NA, i'm not going to argue turbo crap with u as i know i won't win THAT argument

yeah the B16 is not the most powerfull, but parts suitability and hybrid parts interchangability for the B18C is not as good.

plus the extra $$ for a B18, you can get your B16 hooting.. it's ALL relative..

but you cannot argue with a B16's over 100HP per Litre power output.. bang for buck..

thats right ! - there aint nothing wrong with a B16A at all

yeh i guess but if one was to do it it would have to be done right, otherwise you could end up with a bigger problem than when you started...
think about it :)

for the d16, the standard cai, headers, exhaust will give u a little bit extra. dont overlook the potential of the d-series.
