VTEC is not dependent on fuel pressure/flow or lack of either.

It is only dependent on such things as oil pressure, throttle position, engine temp, road speed & manifold pressure.

I would say start by checking your oil level.

yeh definatly start checking your oil level bcuz vtec engines burn oil like no tomorrow, fuel has nothing to with it only when ur constantly hitting vtec ur fuel will drop immensly bcuz the revs are high :)

lol im good mates with the mechanics at a honda dealership and they said to me having seen so many vtec cars come through its amazing how much oil one engine can burn, im only going by what trained motor technitions told me im a spare parts interpreter for holden i dont know but was just saying what a group of qualified mechanics told me

but then again u cant expect them to know what there on about

hope it wasn't these same mechanics that suggested the fuel levels were governing the vtec?

^lawlllll

well, jay vtec, alot of ppl have vtec engines here, and live with them and do their own servicing, so theyd know whether their engines are chewing through oil or not

as i said, i havent heard that having vtec makes the engine consume more oil, usually if excess oil is being consumed, then something isnt right

ask ur mechanic friends for more detail on wat they mean by chewing up oil, and get back to us
