Hey guys,

Have any of you guys noticed that brake pads for our DC2's cost like 3 times more than for any other car? Paid $120 for bendix advance pads today, just for the fronts, blardy hell!

i paid $100 for my bendix advance pads about 3 months ago

funny thing is my bro got a quote for $80 for the same pads to suit his LS
i thought it would be cheaper for a 94+ teg over a DA9

what other brake pads have been used by everyone?
Were they good? Last a long time? Eat away at the rotor? Good at high temperature with minimal brake fade? Much dust?

i've had mine in for around 4 months now
has been really good until I did MC Motorsport, a type of Autokhana driver training 1 month ago

hammered the hell out of my brakes on the track, and now every 2nd or 3rd time i drive the car, it makes a slight metal on metal noise when braking. it only happens when the car is about 20km/h to 0, and doesn't happen very often

i've checked the rotors, they're still flat as, and the pads still have heaps of wear on them. i'm not too worried about it, cos the brake pedal feel and stopping is excellent

and pads are good from slowing down from 180km/h, very minimal brake fade (only cos i didn't realise i had to turn left at the next intersection :p)

the brake pads i used were from 'race brakes', the cost $120 whixh was quite expensive but it was well worth it. it has excellent bite and doesnt wear the rotors n can be taken to the track and still have heaps of meat on it and its good for street use aswell.

negatives are brakes squel in the last couple of metres and heaps of brake dust

What's the life span in comparison to OEM? Do you basically pay $30-50 extra for these aftermarket RB's and gain better bite/less fade, etc? Everything else stays the same, bar some extra brake noise/dust?

No noise that I have heard.. the bite is impressive.. 10 laps at wakefield no fade what so ever.. of course with motul RBF 600 fluid.

Life span can't comment... because I don't know it only new on car..

what does the Motul fluid cost? I am running a street pad with a lttle bit of metal through it that Razztech has helped to develop...weren't cheap, but.......great bite and feel, no fade under the conditions I have used them...not much dust, and they are not eating my rotors...if i start sprinting I wanna run the Motul mentioned in the above post, or one with a high boiling point...this is on an EG hatch BTW :)
