Hey guys,
I've just changed the donut exhaust flange gasket between the header and cat.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Hey dude is it a knocking or clicking noise? Sounds exactly what happened to my EJ8 i took it to the mechanic an they say they couldnt hear it. Then took it to another bloke he said exhuast leak. Checked my headers down to the cat and i had a gap or hole in my gasket that was creating a clicking noise just gota new one and it was all good. Maybe check exhuast for leaks ? my 2 cents any way

Thnks dude. It doesnt sound like an exhaust leak. Hopefully the noise isnt anything major.
hopefully not but it would hurt if it caused major damage later, i think u need to take it to a mechanic and take them for a drive. does it do it when you rev the engine or does there have to be load?

Could be something to do with accelerating in a high gear, at low rpm?

check ur engine mounts, stock engine mounts break easily on dc5r...

Any difference if your accelerating into a corner?

i'd say engine mount, shift linkages hitting muffler if you have aftermarket muffler.

have you recently changed petrol? does it sound like it is coming from the cyliders?

hmmm, still sounds like an engine mount to me cause the one on the drivers side generally breaks first. take it to honda they'll be able to tell you whats goin on...

I have filled about around 6 times with the same noise. Its hard to say where the noise is coming from but from what i hear it sounds like its coming from the drivers side engine bay.
Would it have anything to do with a camshaft pulley or tensioner pulley? the only think the noise isnt constant, its only happens for four seconds when accelerating after releasing the clutch.
test it on the dyno, to see whats the noise is coming from

if they say your clutch is worn maybe the knocking sound might be a worn thrust bearing.
can you hear the knocking sound at idle then go away when the clutch is engaged?

Just thought of something, have u got a flex joint on your exhaust? sometimes they can make the loudest clicking noises when they r new.

GOOD SH*T, big relief sigh after that aye dude lol good work
Yep the problem is all fixed.
I got the dude the lowered my gfs car to take the car for a spin and he noted the gear shifts were very sloppy so then we checked the clutch fluid and it was dirty as.
After changing the clutch fluid the noise was gone!! thank god!
