to replace my cracked stock bumper, i've picked up one from the wreckers in fairly good nick, just in a different colour.

i want to sand it back and prime it ready for a respray, just not sure what sort of sand paper i should use (ie wet/dry, grit, etc etc)

then do i just use bumper undercoat?

i've also got a fibreglass lip waiting to go on, its just in the gelcoat... should i sand back using same or different?

picked it up for $75 at the wreckers including indicators.. not a bad score i reckon. couple of scratches which i guess i'll just sand out, nothing that needs bogging i reckon

Use 800 grit wetordry sandpaper.
Wet sand it until its dull and any chip marks or imperfections.
Only Prime it if u have bogged it.

does the bar have stone chips or anythin like dat ? if so u dont 800 wet u must feather out any imperfections first then primer it or hifill it . then u rub it with 400 wet then 800 wet if u get scratches wif ur 800 u can use 1200 otherwise if good go over it with matting paste and grey scotch bight if u wanna make sure u get it all rubbed good . then u prep sol it and paint it .as 4 ur bottom lip rub the gelcoat wif 180 then 240 highfill it then rub wif 400 and 800 and paint it

You don't have to prime a bumper that has been previously painted. Just sand smooth, apply some primer and then paint.
