well i've got the d16y1 intake manifold and head and they seem to be in good nick. im assuming this thing will bolt straight onto my d15 block and will hopefully give me a good power upgrade.

-shoud i use the d15b7 head gasket or the d16y1 head gasket (what will give me higher compression/lower compression)
-can i use the D15 distributer or does it have to be the D16's (the d16 head ddnt come with the distributor)
-as for vtec, would i need to get the complete wiring and manual ecu for vtec to work?
-what should i use to rougly clean the inside of the Intake manifold and jus abit around the pistons since there is alittle bit of dirt lying around.

cheers. tim

-use the d15 head gasket
-d15 dizzy should be fine
-no need for the complete loom just add a wire for the vtec solenoid(A4) and one for thr vtec pressure switch(D6). PM ECU-MAN he should be able to add VTEC to your ECU.
-carby cleaner cleans manifolds nicely.

No, im pretty sure you need a VTEC dizzy...

thats what i was thinkin, but then again, vtec works by oil pressure, that is sensed by the solenoid, and gets the head running what part does the dizzy play in vtec?

I dont know, but ive been told by others you need VTEC dizzy.
It might have had something to do with the fittings, perhaps you wont fit your old dizzy on VTEC head?

If it is different it would be the way it bolts up. If i get 1 in i will check for you.

GAHRRHHHH, so im half way there and the d15b7 dizzy does not bolt on properly, the holes does not allign up with the dizzy. so that stops me from doin any work until i get a d16y1 dizzy.
im wondering tho, is there anything other d-series dizzy that will fit the d16y1 head besides the actually dizzy for that model.

my other question is that 2 holes sort of allign on my dizzy to the hole on the block out've the 3, and it would only take abit of filing to make the gap bigger on the dizzy for the bolts to fit into the holes on the block.will it be ok to run jus 2 bolts tightened and the third one left alone, or will this cause an oil leak.

cheers
