I want to raise my car's ride height without ruining much of the looks and handling. Reason for that is I'm fed up of scraping the exhaust pipe on dreadful humps at any Shopping Centre's carparks.

My car's tyre size is 205/45/16, if I get a 205/50/16, would the ride height go higher? If yes, can I just leave the coilover height settings as it is or raise it a bit higher?

My car's an EK1.

yes would raise it by abit.

made a difference for me.. but i went the other way
from 195/55/15 to---> 195/50/15

and i started to scrape on things that i didnt scrape on before..

so yeh makes a little bit of a difference.. gives u afew mm of clearance

might also put your speedo out of calibration because you are adding more rolling diameter. but an extra 5mm prob wont do much to put you way outta whack.

5mm you say? that's like 3 inches, that's enough to clear off my pipe from those big a$$ humps.

Rolling diameter increases by 20.5mm. I think the limit before cops start to hate you is 15mm.

It will raise by 10mm, give or take 2mm varying by tyre brands, model, tread depth. I reckon it will look better as the other 10mm goes into closing the gap between tyre and fender.

mm must have HUGE speed bumps wherever u live :\ your car doesnt look tooooooo low... maybe u shouldnt go over bumps that fast :i u got more clearance then me :\

what coilover suspension u got? maybe change spring rate? or dampening... i wouldnt have a clue.. eheh :)

the tyre would look fatter..

maybe it would fill in ur guards abit more.

but yeh shouldnt look much different.

like what speed humps are u talking about?

i drive into a carpark everyday and i scrape my resonator, its fun but ur testicles will get used to it.. lol

yeah it doesn't look too low but the straight through exhaust pipe has a very looooww clearance from the ground. I'll take a pic so you'll see.

coilover is apexi n1 pro. I wouldn't want to set the dampening to any stiffer as it's stiff enough already.

i'm talking about speed humps at Westfield Shopping Centres - the sharp pointed ones.. gawd i hate those! and the speed humps at the carparks at some beaches if you know what i'm talking about. :D

Go over them diagonally. Because of the sharp profile, the car just drops if you go over it 2 wheels at a time. I get the same problem at Bunnings as they use a similar sharp metal speed bump.

i have to drive over them everyday..
the worst ones arent the speed humps..
its the peak of every ramp..

gg for my exhaust.

205/50's will raise it by 5.13mm without touching the coilovers.
