I'm trying to remove euro rear bar, its gone smoothly so far. I think its basically, two screws on each side, and 2 thingies in the middle. I managed to get one of the middle ones out simply by prying it out (plastic fastener), but the other one I can't seem to do..

Here is a pic..

Any ideas?

just use a flathead screwdrive and stick it in where the gap is. pry it out. i'm guessing ur taking out either a bumper, or grill right?? haha

yeah it was a bit of a struggle that one. Removing the bumper was easier than I thought, but it now its not 100% flush around the taillights. I can't remember if it was like that originally... *sigh*

So easy. Insert flat head horizontally in gap (as SiReal said). Turn the flat head 90 degrees and the centre will pop out.

I think they're called scrivets. Thats what they were referred to when I was at HSV. They were a bit different though. They had a phillips head on them making removal a choice between unscrewing it with a screwdriver or prying it out with some kind of fork tool.

gentle? I had to try pretty hard to get them out. And especially because they are plastic I was scared of deforming the head.

Sometimes easier if you use a screwdriver from each side and lever at the same time to avoid snapping off the cap, they'll pop out easier.

No they are not, they are bastards.
I tried one, and it wudnt budge at all, so i tried another, nothing
So i tried another, and i thought omg ill just force it, and then the head snapped off !!!!

And getting it out now is looking doubtful

a lot of them will break cos of age and wear and tear especially if they are holding the stone tray, I usually get 2x flat head and pry the middle part and then pry it from the bottom after it's loosened.
And if it's not budging no point trying anymore just rip it apart with whatever you can.

yeah i levered it up a bit and then worked my way around just cranking it here and there. at least i know for the future now.

i noticed there are different ones on the bumper
ones in the mid are more rounder and sometimes quite tough to remove (without deforming it)
usually ok tho.

try to use a flathead screwdriver with a head the same width as the lip section - and be slow n steady and dont snap the edge.

is better to use 2 flat head screw driver, insert one on each side, then slowly pull it out!!!!!

the most 5H1T i hate......... they easy to broken..... once the head broken, you cant take them out easily.......

Yeah, one was like a circle within a circle, the other was like the pic I posted. Both the same thing, but two different designs.
