Hi everyone,

Hi I'm currently rebuilding my engine while removing the engine unpluging the sensors i broke my knock sensor for B18c2, I'm just wondering do i need this sensor when im going for an aftermarket ECU? or it is needed?
I'm situated in perth and i called nearly every place for a second hand one and they just dont have any. I quoted for a new on which is $230 which i dont really want to pay when i can use else where.

Any help will be great guys:thumbsup:

if you are running a stock ecu then yes.

If you will be running an aftermarket ecu, or chipped oem ecu (hondata, crome, uber) then no.

hondata requires the use of the stock knock sensor i thought?!

if you have to buy one, call a honda dealer and order one through them. they are expensive, but it will save a lot of hassle

even though you can turn off the knock sensor on some aftermarket ecu's, it would still be useful for the tuner see knock level's dected during tuning.
