Hi guys,

thinking of raising my lowered car by an inch...my car's got a coilover so the ride height can be adjusted.. so what's the proper way to do it? should it be 1 inch at the front and 1/2 inch at the back? or 1 inch on both front and back?

thanks.

if ur coilovers have adjustable lower brackets, just unscrew the front n back 1 inch, and ur car shud be fine.

If you like the current stance, then raise it equally front and rear.
By how much, well, how high do you want the car? adjust in increments of 1/2inch? or as Kila says, 1 inch is usually just fine.

I go by finger spacing, for street, the gap between the tyre and the fender is 2 fingers..LOL

ok will do that.. 1 inch on both.. that finger spacing is pretty clever, never thought of that lol..

btw, do i need to do a wheel alignment after raising the car?

thanks again..

a wheel alignment will help, generally everything u **** around with the suspension u get one done, but if your car drives straight then i guess its not a big deal. but sometimes u still might have too much toe in or out i think generally when u lower u get more toe out, and when u raise u get more toe in.

Wheel Alignment - Safe answer is yes
But I've never had the need to do one just changing heights by an inch.

Not really. Not everyone wants a slammed car :)
A 2-finger gap still looks good.
