Sorry if this is old for you OH readers but... just in case;

Founded in 2001, it didn't take INGS much time to be considered as one of the top tuners on the extremely competitive japanese market. With projects for many types of vehicles ranging from sportscars to luxury sedans, they provide an alternative to Mugen when it comes to tuning the almighty FD2 Honda Civic!

With 220HP on the front wheels and a 200% racing-inspired chassis, there is no big need for extra power, the best way to go would be reducing weight and working on the aerodynamics, yet improving the chassis parts. That is exactly what INGS did with this new set of products from their "N-Spec" range.

This demo car has been fitted with INGS Sports TS06 rims (18 inches) and Bridgestone POTENZA RE-01R tyres (255/35/18 F - 225/40/18 R), bigger at the front to maximise the grip of this FWD car. Suspensions are Endless ZEAL Function X, the brakes also come from the Endless catalog while the exhaust is a 5ZIGEN Miracle Fireball and the seats are Bride ZETA 3, the belts come from specialist TAKATA with some MPH-340R.

As you can see, the bodykit looks mighty fine on the new Civic, it is made of a front/rear bumper, side skirts and an impressive rear wing. The price of the whole kit (no mechanical parts included) is set around 200.000 to 240.000 Yens in Japan.

Looks like there's now a decent Mugen alternative! :) Wonder how long before the replicas flood eBay.

EDIT: This place in Singapore (?) already has the kit for sale; http://www.kereta.sg/Mall.php?Category=30

That kit is available in SG. I still think Mugen kit FTW.

I don't like it, much too extreme look for a Civic.

Mugen and Modulo both better.

So how much horsepower does each sticker add?

Looks like ass IMO

I just got quite sick of lots and lots of Mugen kits everywhere so it's nice to see something different. Very very aggressive and possibly OTT, but I wouldn't mind :)

Looks rice.... and the rear spoiler looks terrible!

Hopefully (tho unlikely) it will increase competition leading to lower prices between INGS and mugen.

Until we actually get the FD2R these things are pointless for our market. Imagine seeing a VTI-L auto with an INGS aero kit. Kinda loses it's appeal don't you think?

LOL hinting at something? :P I personally think it's fine. Considering the lack of parts available for the FD1, and the fact it's just an aero kit which was designed for FD2 (not sure if it's FD2 or FD2R... but both work), it seems fine to me.

Besides, at least it's a bit more stand-out than the very subtle Mugen/Modulo lips.

Want to stand out? Get a S2000 or 350z or something.

A civic is just a car, it gets you from A to B quite comfortably.

The mugen kit was acceptable in terms of aggression because you can conceivably see Honda releasing the car with that kit, this is just over the top, I mean it looks like it came straight out of Tokyo Drift.

think the same, too extreme for civic. looks like custom body kit that ppl use for hyundai excell/mirage.
but good for us to have more body kit options.

*agrees with the Mirage comment* lol

... but still, it's nice to see more options coming out. And yes a 350z or S2K will stand out more, but it's fun to be different.

I don't think you can have a kit that will fit both FD2 and FD2R... both cars have different from bumper dimensions (FD2R being slightly wider than a standard FD because of the front fender).

This kit looks a bit too much for me, but would really like to see it in real life 1st before make any further comments though :p

Uhm... S2000 and 350Z is not just a car? is it a bird? is it a plane? And they cant take you from A to B quite comfortably? I'm confused...

Dont take what I say out of context, I mean if you're looking for attention, the Civic probably isnt the car you should buy. There are plenty more cars that get attention better than a Civic. Civic is for economy and practical.

LOL... fine, we all know what you really mean. But sometimes it's cool to dress up a car :)

I was under the impression this was a full bumper kit. Not just a lip.

^The FD2R has a wider fender arch hence the bumper would be wider as well... look closely at FD2R pictures, the bulge where the wheel arch is is slightly bigger... but I'm sure with some custom fibreglass work, it'll fit fine

I wonder if anyone confirmed whether this kit will fit onto a standard FD1/FD2? I heard CTR kits need a bit of tweaking.

xenfacta
18-01-2008, 02:59 PM
it probably would need a lil massaging given it was designed as a ctr upgrade so is designed for the slightly wider guards

That's what I thought. It makes me wonder whether it's worth going genuine since the whole point of buying genuine kits, is that they fit perfectly with their pristine build quality.

xenfacta

it is worth going genuine - that ings kit is made for the type r so, if you want to upgrade a type r, you're fine

Regardless if real or fake, i still think Mugen Kit looks the best. There are some kits out there where i like the rear skirt only. These ones have the dual opening for the exhausts, therefore you have 4 exhausts (2 on each side)

I heart the SSS

Look's rather swell. Love that rear bar.

Seem's like you either love it or hate it here haha.
