Could be input shaft bearing, but the noise is meant to come from the driver's side as that is where the gearbox is on a B series.

aarong is right. If you havent modified the clutch or the flywheel at all then the ISB is the problem

Have you got any mods? now that i got a today FW and exdy organic clutch my car is noisier in that respect, but i had the ISB and fork changed when i did the swap...

or if u have placed like an Aftermarket shifter in it could just be hitting the exhaust as the exhaust is right under the shifter.... i had the same problem all i did was tighten the bolt and placed lock tight... never stuffed up again

mmm

its definitely coming from the passengers side...

i can only hear it inside... not in the engine bay - and it makes the noise in nuetral too.

oh and i cant hear it in the engine bay coz its too noisy lol

Could be the Input Shaft Bearing (ISB), what i realised when my ISB was rooted is that the sound is really noticeable in neutral, and lower gears... couldn't hear it in higher gears, the sound also disappeared when the clutch was engaged. Also found it difficult to change from reverse to first at times. If this is the same for you, could be your ISB playing up...
