Hows it going all. Want to do a CTR Interior + Exterior conversion only. no performance mods. Can be beneficial to those who like the JDM EK look, PLEASE NO FLAMING & CALLING WANNABES because EK9s are truly very hard to get your hands on them. Even if you do you'll have trouble importing them into Australia. So the parts that i have gathered so far are;

-Interior-
CTR Clusters(Brezel + Faceplate + Needles)
Red Door Panel
Centre Climate Control Console
CTR Moneybox
AirCon Vents Left + Right
CTR Shift Boot + Knob
CTR Handbrake Stick
CTR Foot Pedal
Red Recaro Bucket Seats
Red CTR Backseats
CTR Red Carpet
CTR Floormats

-Exterior-

CTR Badges ( Front Bonnet + Back)
CTR Decal ( x 2 Rear + x 1 Back)
CTR Spoiler
CTR Front Bumper
CTR Rims
CTR Grill

Well thats all the things im aware of making a complete conversion. please feel free to add in more. thanks

99-00
- your front bumper should be fine. just need a lip

things you have missed
- headlights
- steering wheel (as mentioned)
- 5 stud (as mentioned)
- visor (not all came with it)
- Championship white paint (as mentioned)
- springs (if want your car to sit right)
- rear quarter window tint (CTR are almost black)
- remove sunroof (if your a perfectionist)

doing the 2000 model. i think ek9 also came with starlight pearl black and championship yellow. as for the boot, what do you mean by rear boot?

EK4R
18-11-2007, 07:54 PM
the boot on the CTR has no rear window wiper. yours would have it.

what model is your car? and you want a 2000 model CTR look?

yup, a 2000 CTR look. i guess i'd also have to redo/repaint the boot coz when i take off the original CIVIC badge. theres 2 holes.

EK4R

is your car 96 model or 2000 ??

and yes just take off your rear wiper and weld that hole when your redo-ing the badge

since you've based it on looks, im going to list everything thats visual to the human eye

exterior.
front and rear lips

you need type R front and rear windows, and a type R rear boot (all windows come pre tinted and the windows in the doors are slightly green/blue colour with no tint. the rear boot has no wiper either)
wing, grill
5 stud with wheels
rear sway bar with a ek9 subframe to use the ek9 tie bar
the correct paint colour that you want
type R decals
front and rear bars (if you have 96-98)

interior (based on the non-n1 spec ek9)
all black interior panels, darker roof and all trim
door trims

Good list zco. Only thing you forgot to mention under optional is centre console (there were a few different types) and sat nav. Could also get the airbag delete plate and or radio delete plate.

To the original poster, there is still a heck of a lot of stuff you need.

EK4R

do a search in google or even on ebay.com (USA)
you will get some pictures of it . basically its just that little bit of rice that completes the car. not necessary if your not a perfectionist. and not all ppl will even know about it if they are not a ek9 guru

sounds like you buying a 99-00 model civic to convert into 2000 ek9 ?

if thats the case you dont need front bar or rear bar. howver you do need front lip and rear lip and front grill

and with swaybar and fuse box cover and tie bar google or usa ebay it like i mention before.

a picture is a lot better than few words .

there is a EK9 for sale in the cars for sale section....

with pretty much all the right bits bar the s/wheel and allergically an EK1 VIN number.

the seller states he bought the car from the 1st owner who brought the car into this country as a race car import. Which got me thinking another way of having a geniune EK9 on the road.

Buy a race car only import ( which I there was one for sale at Ichiban imports for $9999 or Hipowerracing for $12K ). Since cars imported into this country as racecars can NEVER be licensed as road vehicles, may be it's far easier to buy a EK1 either as a completely good car or repairable write off and cut out the VIN number on the bulkhead and gaft it onto the EK9 and hey pesto you can now drive it on the road. Definately much less work than swapping all the right EK9 bits over to the Ek1 bodyshell.

Not sure what the legal ramifications are, and the law will vary between states. It's a fine line between swapping identities and rebirthing car and certainly a grey area.

Just get this Link (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76322) and merge the two together, save your time screwing around finding parts, looking for part numbers, importing them, etc etc etc etc...

sorry let me rephrase that question. is the stock ek9 muffler nosiy? meaning is it loud like those after-market cannons mufflers.

DreadAngel

Its a stock muffler bro, more noise from engine than exhaust put it that way
