Just wondering does a new 2007 civic need something like a UV blocker or protection on the front dash as I leave the car out in the sun all day. Or are plastiacs these days up to standards against UV and won't deform like really old cars used to?
If required, what are your suggestions from experience?
What about for an Accord with cream interior?

I just use meguiars interior foam protection. I usually apply a decent amount. Not sure if it protects the car, but it sure makes it shiny. I dont think the plastic will melt cos ive had it out in the sun heaps of times before. If ur concerned, get a sunshade

tinted windows and a sun shade should eliminate the possibility...

I personally have the 3M Titanium tint from Express Tint which not only blocks out a very decent ammount of UVs but also keeps my plastic protection lasting longer. I go over my interior plastic with armour all once a month and it has been done on this car for its 11yr life and is goin like new. No need for too much just spray a few squirts into a microfibre cloth will do wonders, don't spray onto the plastic only the cloth. My car for a good percentage of its life from 6am -5pm is out in the direct sunlight and as long as u take care of the interior once a month to 6wks it will continue to look the goods.

what about the outswide plastic, like the rubber around the doors and the hard plastic lining the windows guys?
Is the 3M Titanium tint the window tinting?

I use a tyre gel to keep them black as like all cars those are vulnerable areas of UV abuse. The tint is called 3M Titanium and is the darkest legal and for Honda's costs around 295, which is a good deal compared to other products out on the market, it also has a lifetime garantee and no bubbles and purpling.

Tyre gel on your interior???
I use 303 on a sponge. Just apply, leave to dry and buff off back to matte once a month.

i use amoral protection on my interior, and for exterior i went over all the plastic part with a fish oil, lol big mistake >_<" fair enough it made all the plastics look nice and black and well treated but omfg did it stink!!
if you really wanted to protect your cars interior go for the darkest legal tints possible, go over your interior with a uv protecter at least once a month or even soOner as the sun may soak it up quicker and even better, why dont you buy one of those cute little windscreen shields that block the sun out?
-not only will it protect your cars interior from getting damaged but will also keep your car cool on a hot summers day! dont forget, the sun may not lift up and crack your dash like older cars (in my 1990 celica it was bad!) but it still can discolour your trim!
goodluck!
i find that using products on the interior attracts dust.. so i just use water and a sponge
