id advise the same, i did my coilovers with a friend at home and doing one corner we popped the ball bearings out and spent an hour finding all of them, accidently dismantled the cv and had to get it re built and re booted lol

however if you have the tools and can be bothered, go for it :P good learning experience

btw hi to another perth fd member

....not on a car with macpherson front struts. You cna stuff up in many many ways....can end up costing alot and hurt you bad. Best to leave it to the pro's.
You CAN get away with some other cars , such as EUROs' or EG/EK/DCs - they have alittle easier suspesion to work with

to me, the front it took me 2 hours, dissamble both right and left shocks, spring, everything

the rear is the hardest job, it took me couple hours
from almost 9 o'clock night include break,
just to get one spring out

yeah it isnt easy for diy, unless if you have basic mechanical knowledge and tools

i was gonna get a workshop to install the springs, but then they were charging like 150-200$ for the install, so i thought to myself, stuff it, i rather install it myself and save the money, if i wanted to spend more money i might as well have gotten a pair of coils from the start. well newho ... diy spring install is a good way to kill an afternoon :P and it was a good learning experience!

^^^

rk_86_wa: Well "HARD" doesnt means impossible either... :p

stig: Hopefuly you install them correctly otherwise who knows howmany coils can be bought by the money you spend to fix the car later :p

This is a revive of an old thread, i got my springs done almost a year ago and for 200 dollars its not bad and plus you cant really do a wheel alignment at home.

Will switch to coils next! i want to go lower =P
