Hi All,

I have/had a 95 3dr Civic VTi-R thats done 350,000 trouble free km.......and the timing belt went a week ago

Avg compression in two cylinders, v low in the other two - pistons and valves obviously came together.

What is the 'expert' opinion on what to do ?

Get Rid of it
1. Give it to a wrecker...
2. Sell it as is (I have no idea if there is a market)

Get it Going
1. Get existing bits (head/pistons : depending on damage) recond (not fussed)
2. Buy new bits (as above)
3. Buy and fit complete engine (B16A2)

I have arranged another car already - am just after opinions on the best plan of attack here.

Thanks.

you would probably only need to change just the engine and not need a gearbox, in that case it'd only be for $1-2k. in any other case, strip it for parts and sell it. people love stealing (like me) EK4 parts !

dont recondition the head/block, just get another one with probably half the km's on it. you might as well seeing as your car has done quiet a bit. also try and swap the clutch while your engine is out unless you already done it recently
