Hand Brake Cable - Eg/EK sedan, hatch,Coupe Interchangeable?

Hey guys,

recently just purchased my new eg6 brake setup. It came off a mates Ej8 (bobbys), upon installation i have noticed the hand brake cable seems a little different.

doesnt seem to line up with the mounts, for the cable. and also where the cable penetrates into the car, the rubber seal bungs dont seem right either, seem too close to the end.

Basically wanting to know if the coupe / hatch sedan hand break cables are the same for Rear discs? or are they all different (longer / shorter) for different cars (coupe/hatch/sedan). Basically my final question is, can i use the ej8 hand break cable with the rear discs on my eg sedan?

EJ8 comes with rear drums dont they? In that case no. You will need the handbrake cables off an EG/EK/DC that has rear DISC brakes.

it did have rear drums, but then converted to rear discs... but would the handbreak cable used on the ej8 with the rear discs be still ok for the eg sedan

IF the handbrake cable was from a disc setup then yes it will fit.
