hi, im in the process of removing my srs steering wheel on my 99 ek1.
i took out the srs airbag and the wheel is left which is attached by the main bolt in the middle...the problem is i cant remove it, the bolt seems to be on too tight i tried wd40 to greese it abit but still wont budge...

any advice on how to undo the bolt?

Yeah, they are kinda tough, you really have to just work at it!!

There is something called a steering wheel puller you can get for a few bux from autobarn, but that will only help once you have the bolt off!!

This is probably not the best way but I used the wheel nut cross bar on mine.

DONT try to use smaller ratchets etc on it , you might round the nut.

Get a 14mm socket , an small extension and a breaker bar and lock your wheel ( kets out the wheel should lock ) and then hit it once or twice. With this extra leverage you should be able to take it off easy.

Or , since you live around the corner from me i can come over and hit it with my impact gun and take it off in 1 second lol

thanks guys reps+, thanks ben..much appreciate the offer, i woulda come to you if i dint get the bolt off but finally got it off. i used extension and all but still wouldnt come off, i had to get a long metal pole and put my whole weight on it to loosen it.

good to see. Leverage really helps with those stubborn bolts/nuts !
