i guess your right.

code says 37820-PO8-N51

its running my OBD1 b16a..

thought it was running a bit funny.. i was under the impression that OBD1 ecu has vtec kick in at 5500 whereas mine is 4800.

so D series and B series ECU are interchangeable ?

yes the plugs are the same. If you speak to ECU-MAN he can socket your ECU and fit a B16 ROM them everything will be sweet.

Most of the time, you can stick in an ecu with same obd and it will start. It wont have any errors if it has all of the sensors its looking for.

I guess, you can chip your ecu, run crome or find a stock basemap for your engine and run it with that.

in terms of day to day running of the car.. not really having any probs with it..

the only thing i notice is that it runs out of a bit of puff up in the high revs when it should be performing at its peak..

also, maybe the knock sensor isnt work due to a bit of pinging (always use premium unleaded) - could this be correct??

The p08 is only meant to be for a d15b so thats prob why its running out of puff and pinging.

Maybe open it up and see if its already chipped. You can tell by the soldering marks around the big chip

From memory, the p08 doesnt have a ks.

a wire may of broke.

check for codes and then find out what system is affected. that will help narow down what wire is at fault.
