with enough money and time anything is possible

Kiz_EG6
28-11-2007, 01:49 PM
Yeah, that's right, money!!
Honestly though, anyone ever put one of these in a Teg or anything?
Think about it, the engine is already s/e opposed!
Huge torque possible, plus 201kw is it, 93 model??

5.5k is cheaper that a DC2R halfcut!!

Engine maybe cheaper to buy, but it will cost a sh!t load more to get it in and running.

If it was that simple to do , you'd think people would be doing it every where by now.

If I am not mistaken the drive shafts run the wrong way as well.

People have done weirder conversions, for example

You'll also need a custom gearbox done up because you'll end up with 1 forward gear and 5 reverse gears if you use the stock box.

^ Thats hectik...5 reverse gears with vtec and none going forward LOLL

Haha, but I reckon it's doable. In Japan, there is a Toyota MR-S running around with a 2.4L stroked k20a in the rear engine bay.

That depends whether you were going to front or mid mount it.
Maybe a bit of fun mid mounting it into a Del sol!

Just modify a box from anything which is not a honda, as this is the normal problem you would have putting a foreign motor up to this engine.

Maybe SW20MR2.

Hmm, looks like the NSX has its gearbox on the side like the other engines, he might not get the 5 reverse gears.... dang....

Have you seen the size of a C30? You might have to cut the firewall just to fit it into an EG/EK. Plus, you have exhaust headers on BOTH front and rear which you have to route around to the rear.

Might just be easier to turn the drivers seat 180 degrees :).

Sure Good Idea!

Plus What Do The Engines Weigh?
I Think Understeer Would Be A Serious Problem Puttin Something Like That In A Fwd!!

And have 3 broomsticks to actuate each pedal and a loop of rope to turn the wheel! :D Mr. Bean, anyone? :)

Now you are getting it.

Probably cheaper to take rear seats out and mid mount it than attempt to put it up the front. Might oversteer too much then.

US drag cars use this (or a similar honda V6) for the drags

in all seriousness, is there any way you could take a Honda Legend and put it in that?

US cars use J-series I reckon. The J is very nice and compact unlike the C-series.

Don't they also use the C35A? In the RL and JDM Legend?

Nope, that's the J35A. The C-series died with the NSX...

You can have my B18C7, but it comes with a yellow itr wrapped around it and a 22k proce tag ;)

I really wanna fix up the civic, that B16A is gold and will be even betta wit a snail hanging off it :)

It's because of the handmade fully aluminium chassis and panels. Nothing wrong with putting the engine into another car. :)

I've seen the vid of them making the NSX (on Best Motoring). The chassis is spot welded by hand (normally done by robots) and after the panels are put on, it is hand filed to remove rough edges and uneven thickness and then sand down (also by hand). I was amazed and it looked like it was more labour-intensive than the production of a Ferrari 599GTB (National Geographic did an episode on the Ferrari factory)
