Hey all,

was just wanting to get peoples thoughts/ideas/recommendations on a header for a 4th gen H22A prelude. I am already aware of the main players both big and small i.e SMSP, Hytech, DC etc., but I was just curious to see if anybody could recommend anything else they've had experience with that I may not have heard of or seen before.

Cheers

Xforce..... Hahahhaah...... Ive got a set on mine..... Going to get rid of them for a fujitsubo or something i think but overall they are a pretty decent header..... not sure how much difference there is between the xforce and the DC though.....

there is also spoon, mugen, an-r and numerous other options

i am sure if you put h22 header into google you will find the rest.

"DC Sports 4-2-1
Greddy 4-2-1
Megan Racing 4-2-1
OBX Racing 4-2-1
Pacesetter 4-2-1
These are the CARB legal headers. These headers make little WHP over stock, if any. I don’t see why anyone would want to waste their money on it. If you plan to get a CARB legal header, stick with the OBX Racing one, because you can get it for under $200 on eBay. All the headers feature a small 2.0” collector that restricts exhaust flow. A popular thing to do is to get one of these headers, and modify the collector. This is done by cutting off collector at the end of the header, and welding a 2.25” or 2.5” pipe to it."

go for Hytech, SMSP, RMF, DTR fabricatoin, AN-R prospeed.

i've got hotshot headers but thats for eg only, if i had a lude i'd go hytech personally.

Im glad to announce that I have had a bit of a breakthrough with this dilemma. I have managed to uncover two headers from America for the H22A 4th gen ludes that are unlike any of the ones mentioned and show considerable promise.

The first is ESP (Explicit Speed Performance) header, which are a hand made 4-2-1 ceramic coated header. I made contact in regards to cost of shipping to Australia, and overall you're roughly looking at around $600 all up (including the header of course), which imo is pretty darn good.

Here is the link:

Although the next is more expensive, the design looks really interesting and promising. They are the LoveFab header, which I believe the yellow EG H22A for sale on here has equipped. Not too sure on shipping, but a rough estimate probably puts it around the $1100-$1200 mark.

Anyway, I just thought I'd put it out there and let you all know. Hopefully can get some discussion going and see what people reckon

Go for the lovefabs dude, I've been lookin into smsps RMFs and lovefabs and for the coin and the results Cody makes a nice header!, I was getting a header custom built in oz for $1200 but after seeing Cody's work I went with him which should cost me $1250 or so in the end shipped. If your engine isnt worked then its not as important to get the bees knees but imo i wouldnt limit yourself. not sure about the explicitspeed header, seems they arent as expeirenced at making headers for the h22... looks much like a copy of other headers....

The LoveFabs do indeed look like a very nice header, and I was very surprised at how different the design was compared to all the other headers out there which appear to be very similar

Mitchman keep us posted and let us know how it all turns out. Am very interested to know...

no worries will do, though you may have noticed all those pictures of the NA headers on all the honda motors on cody's site are of the same engine etc, i found some pictures of i think some of the first lovefab H22 headers made, they are much different to the sites pics but still as beefy!

Still dam waiting on Cody to get back to me..... theres something about this industry that makes engine/ part builders shocking as all buggery with sticking to a date, its now over a month late!

hmmm, can the header be a DYI install, or needs a mechanic?

Depends if its a bolt on from stock or needs your cat moved further back etc some headers are longer than stock.
im STILL waiting on my header... not impressed

by the look of it, being all one piece, looks like you are going to have to remove the cross memeber to install it.

That looks like a very nice header indeed. Can't wait to see what it can do...

sorry to drag an old thread up
thought it would be better than to make a new one

does anyone have pics of how they mod the american h22a headers to make it a 2.5" outlet?

thanks

Not sure, but your best bet would be to join preludepower.com and search there.
