just a quick question... i just bought a new fuel pump for my car and i dont know where abouts the old one is to replace??

its a fun job
you have to remove the fuel tank from underneath
pain in the ass

lol, i did this a few weeks ago. Its the hardest job i've even done to the car.
The rear engine mount is a joy compared to this.

I did it by myself from midnight-6am and as above its a pain in the ass, especially if you dont have a lift.
I suggest you pay someone to do it or get a mate to help.

And no matter how much you convince yourself you cannot do it thru the hole under the rear seats.

i 1st thought it was under the back seats but just a big ass tank. i mite just take it to a place with a lift coz it sounds like a bitch of a job. yeah mine cuts out when the fuel is below 1/4 left if i dont take it easy.

be sure the installer knows the position of how the pump and teabag filter sits. I suggest cleaning and re-using the existing filter as it sits better than most other aftermarket pump filters.

Mine was pretty easy to swap out...


...I paid someone else to do it!

As the other guys said, it isn't impossible, but it isn't fun either.

heheh yeah its a B*tch of a job.
I paid someone to do it to when i had myDA9
tried to do it myself through the whole in the backseat and its a no go.
the pump aint even there.

Make sure you have someone to help you, its near impossible on your own. I got the pleasure of doing it twice last weekend, ****ing replacement pump didn't work did it.

lol, i changed mine within 4hours =) got 2 car jacks and job was solo, guess i may be a pro HAHAH nah i got help from 2 friends =D. messy.big.tiring,sweaty job.. not worth it.. my mechanic quoted me labour $140. i wouldve just paid him 140..
