Reverse & Handbrake

Hey guys,

My 07 manual euro's about 3 weeks old now.

This morning i reversed out of my horizontal driveway (without releasing the handbrake) and noticed there was little to no resistance from my handbrake (no chime and no alert). I didn't even give it any throttle and it just sailed out. I only felt the resistance when i geared into 1st and tried to drive off, at which point it gave an alert and a chime.

Can anyone confirm this? Appreciate any assistance.

I have done that in all my cars one time or another.....no drama

On the Euro, the handbrake is pretty weak. I've driven off with it on and didn't even notice until the handbrake beep came on after driving for about 100m.
