Reason(s) for buying the S2000

High revving, great sounding engine
Great gearbox
Seating position
Cockpit
Indy Yellow
Roof down just a bonus

lifestyle situation is great, because my girlfriend has a CRV, I have a GTiR, and "we" have a s2000, collectively we can accomodate all types of situations.
9000rpm helped.

I'd say 35k for a stock S2K with lowish k's for a pretty good one.

30 for a good one average k's

27 for an ok one with say 110,000k's+

24 for an s2k with no doors

I was in the same dilema just a month ago! Finally opted for the S2000. The Z's a great car but thought the S2K was more nimble. Also dollar-for-dollar, the S2K I found seemed much better overall than the Z's i saw.

Test drove one 350z and it's heavy, although it has plenty of torque everywhere.

I just don't like the fuel consumption at all, and steering felt heavy when I test drove it.

Well im picking up a 99 S2000 this Friday :)
The car is in excellent condition - except the murky rear window which i'm planning to replace. Is it possible to change the rear window to OEM glass like the AP2 model?

Had a choice between 350z, Audi TT and Z4... S2000 had the best bang for buck and was rated high by the guys from Top Gear :thumbsup:

Had enough of my my widebody turbocharged pulsar so brought one of these... can't wait to start modding this car, dropped some coin over xmas waiting for the parts from Japan! ;)
