The purpose of the exercise was to see what connector the stereo uses, with the aim of fitting a USA Spec iPod adaptor, and a Motorola T605 bluetooth handsfree w. A2DP.

My aim is to have BT handsfree, iPod dock interface, 3.5mm AUX in and audio over BT (A2DP).... without cutting any wires.... and at this stage it looks doable.

Also, if you wanted a Parrot kit then the AC000008AA cable apears to be the correct one for a solder-free install.

You can see the connector by removing the door underneath the HVAC controls. You don't need to pull the entire system out like you have there.

Lots of people have installed SNHOND3 or similar for the MP3 input - that is all you need to look out and as far as I am aware that is the only place where the system has an aux device input.

Yeah, the AUX connector is easy to get to, but i wanted to see the main connector as thats where the phone kit splices in so that it can use the front speakers for the phone.

Just a thought - you know the Honda Bluetooth system the dealers are selling for the Euro? Why not go to your Honda local parts and ask to see the kit and fitting instructions? They are always helpful there in my experience.

Then you can confirm the kit you propose to buy from the USA uses all the same connections, etc.

It can be done with one system, the Dension Gateway 100 with Bluetooth extension.

I have this installed in my Civic R (it's the same part as the euro as i've tested it in my euro and works) with the bluetooth option. The Ipod can be controlled through the steering wheel controls and the ipod if you wish. You can even skip tracks using the controls when using/listening to a A2DP phone. Even better is the whole system mutes/interrupts when a call comes in. You pick up the calls by pressing FF and reject calls by pressing RW and the sound of the call go through your speakers.

It's a very easy install as it's just one plug that goes into the back of the headunit cd changer port and you need to decide where you want the mic for the handsfree unit, 3.5mm connecter and ipod dock connector to be.

As much as I'm a fan of keeping extra buttons on my dash to a minimum I think that having the extra buttons dedicated to the phone is worth it.

The commands to use it on a non-navi display look fairly obtuse, too, and will probably just piss off The Wife. How do you find it?

The Dension Gateway (the 300 is out now) w/ bluetooth adapter looks like the way to go for me.

Has anyone installed this in the '03 Euro Lux?
