ok honda fans,
when i was doing some 1/4 runs and drags--naughty dragging---street lights :D i shift about 5500 ish right.. or maybe higher. it is hard to get into gear and i kinda have to force it in. doesnt crunch but is not easy to pull into gear... why is this so?

also what would the best time i should shift? like which rpm... ----- most potential of getting a fast run etc...

help fellaz/\ my cars starting to feel slower now ahahaha...need more power ahahahaha...damn my crazy mind wanting more power:cool:

sounds about right mate, f22b loses power after 5500rpm anyway.

personally, if im changing at high revs its 7500rpm+ :D
u want more power? get a turbo on your motor or h22a swap.

clutch needs to be done ever 100k or so. when i was running a stocky, after i really heated my clutch up it was hard to get into gear in quick shifts. If its not crunching, its most likly ur clutch.

edit: and working casual is no exuse. i bought my car + turbo'd it on a kmart salary, as a student. no help from parents.

your car drives nice Dundas. clutch is good. you must master the honda flat change

The clutch will only affect getting it into gear if its not disengaging properly. Its more a gearbox issue.

If your car makes power all the way to the rev limiter, then just shit before it cuts in :)

my car is hard to shift bove 6k shifts.. which is kinda shitting me now..
first to second.. also hard to get in. 2nd to 3rd.. makes the grinding noise..
but 3rd to 4th is easy... my 5th gear grinds.. gotta double clutch for it to go in nicely..

i think my clutch is dead too..
ohh noo

crunching at high rev's = syncro problem..

honda flat change?> yes what is that ahahaha
also when i go 1st to 2nd is normally the hardest the rest is pretty easy= i think ahahaha. yeah its not too bad... if i change @ 5500rpm its ok any higher and it gets a little harder.

yeah yall sound like u got synchro problems

try changing the transmission oil, sometimes that helps a lot.. also I've heard that an oil called syntrax (castrol? can't remeber) is good for worn synchros.

Flat changing is changing from a lower gear to a higher gear without using the clutch.

Yeah, the stock F22 puts out max power at 5,500rpm. however if you change anything this point can change... so its hard to say. But regardless of the point of maximum power, you want to shift so that the total area under the power/torque curve is maximum... therefore, you want to shift above 5,500 so that you get more area.

all manufactures have there own feal to there car, with there own shift characteristics. you just have to find the best combination to change gears at high revs quickly without crunching or notching. then when you can do it every time you have mastered the Honda flat change.

ps. I made up the Honda flat change. :)

:( mines auto

and pulls hard in 1st but 2nd is as useful as going into reverse

ahahaha.
change gears without clutch talk about rooting the syncros ahaha...i know it can be done but mate im gonna do a few crunches b4 i hit it in gear LOL. I did it in my friends Astra ehehehehe.

I fink i will change 1st -to-2nd at 5000rpm instead of changing higher (when i drag etc.)

whether your clutch is dying or not, that can easily be tested.

change your gearbox oil first, that should always be the first thing you change before you do anything else
