guy i am just wonder what is the different between after market parts and general Honda parts.

because i am actually thinking of buying after market front bumper (ek coupe) and lips, back bumper (ek with not black line at the back ) and rear lip to fits in an EK4 96-98.

i am just wonder if the aftermarket parts will bolt straight on and go.
or u need a panel beater to fits in the aftermarket parts ?

if anyone who has try aftermarket front bumper and rear bumper can u please help me out and give me detail about the aftermarket parts.
i am just scare that it might not fits in, i mean not perfect.

thank you

hope to hear from you guy out there

you can fit it on yourself.

but aftermarket shit doesnt necssarily mean the gaps will line up perfect like OEM parts.

dont need a panel beater to do it.. but hey you might be lucky and get aftermarket parts taht line up.

EDIT: with aftermarket parts panel beaters probably won't be able to line up if there's un even gaps.. its just due to the poor make of the aftermarket part/bumpers. hence why it is cheaper.

i think your coupe is called ej the pre-facelift model. for body kits, you need to specifically look for parts for 96-98model which are the pre-facelift.
and what dupac said aftermarket bodykits rarely line up perfect so might need some small modding to fit on, but nothing too major.
im not sure about the rear of coupes, but for EK's the rear is all the same and are interchangable.
correct me if im wrong, but i think for coupe EK hatch rears wont fit, i think they have their own.
check out carmate.com.au, they have their own seperate section for civic coupe, but as i said the front is the same as the pre facelift of sedan and hatch

EJ8 is the front bar you want for Pre-facelift 96-98 EK's (so you don't have the black moulds)

EK 99-00 Rear bar is that bar you want with no moulds.

get genuine. dont need another dodgy ek on the road.

obviously genuine parts are the best but it will cost u big dollar for brand new genuine parts, aftermarket parts are not bad compare to their price and like dupac said u may get aftermarket parts that will still fits perfect...

there will be gaps too even u use genuine parts but not line up properly..

so aftermarket parts /= gaps between panels , and if they are that bad panel beaters wont get them as replacement ..all use genuine right? insurance company pay the cost anyway

The after-market kits from Japan (genuine) kits normally fit perfectly.
And Of course, that would be a different story if you had an accident before and had your panels fixed.

I have fitted a couple of Jap original kits for customers, they fitted perfectly and the quality of the kit is just like an OEM panel (flat and smooth).
