Hey Guys
I've hit 8000RPM's twice this week by mistake.
Everything seems fine but what might have gone wrong?
The e-management must have the rev limiter disabled yeah?
Anyway your thoughts on this?
Thanks people

There was a rev limiter before boost so my guess is that e-management has disabled it...
Not no stopping at all lol
Safe at 8k really?

lol wouldnt call it safe, but its no biggy hitting 8krpm every blue moon. no rev limiter? :D so that means ur car can rev to 10k? haha awesome. love to see it, jus wouldnt love the results it can cause

its any easy fix which i am sure your tuner can fix in like 5 secs.
I'd get it in just incase you over rev, like when i accidently launched for a sec due to the road, my engine cut out! And that's without boost. With boost it will go even faster. Better to be safe than sorry.
Pretty sure the D series was not really meant to rev that high?

Yeah I'll be getting it turned back on when my car gets tuned :) just to be safe

pretty sure with that engine, redline was meant to be at 7200? and your car's revs should bounce on that limit.. lol what does it sound like at 8000 rpm's o: must be screammmmmmmmming at that level.. but then again.. i wouldn't have a clue what "sohc vtec boosted" means.. unless its just that engine with a turbo on it.. but then if thats the case.. wouldn't the rev limit be higher cos its vtec? im clueles... just giving a thought
why don't u try just idling your car in neutral and then put your foot on the accelerator and see how far it does go... and if it doesn't stop.. well then u know u got a problem

Yeah bro she turbo lol that's why I don't have a rev limiter anymore :p
I don't wont to hit 8k it was a mistake lol

Just rem that the engine redlines at about 7200. Boosting already reduces engine life. Your lucky your engine is fresh so it can take abit more punishment.
Last engine that i revved to 9k (which redlined at 8,200) blew its seals. THe car only lasted about a mth with me over revving every once in a while.

So for now you are doing 8k rpm on an untuned turbo D16Y1? You have balls. ;)

yeah theres still a limiter in neutral.
like everyone is saying, the ecu probably hasnt had rev limiter set.
and u say you will get it set when its tuned.problem solved.
as for damage, your engine will be ok,while its not good for it,and will prematurely wear it over time, these few mistakes will be ok
and as for that kid who said rev it and neutral and see if the limiter cuts in.....please for the sake of honda dont lol.if it wasnt damaged before,it would be after that extreme free reving, but im sure you already know that.
my EG has a stock ECU, stock B16A...
but i've revved past 8 accidently and i needle accidently went past 9 once...
should i have a rev limiter at all?
when i hit 9 i felt a big power slump for a moment...
