GLI and CXI

Hey guys,
im thinking of buying a first car..
After long consideration and availablity instead of buying an ek4 im going to buy an ek1..
just wondering the differences between a GLI and CXI in terms of speed, interior and exterior...
any help will be much appreciated..

GLI & cxi has the same motor.

GLI has:
Power windows
tacho
front sway bar
Rear brake disc

CXI don't have any of those

hey bro, CXI has no power options such as power windows, mirrors and keyless entry i think, where as GLI has all power options. GLI had a optional feature for the sunroof. speed, and everything else is exactly the same.

GLi also has a steel tip on the muffler rather than the black-straw looking CXi muffler

as of those listed by others. main noticable difference would be the power options and tacho. CXi dont have them.

in terms of speed, they both share the same engine, but theoretically speaking CXi would be slightly lighter (without the power options). but keep in mind that GLi has rear disc brakes.

exterior wise, the are exactly the same. but all (most) CXi will have unpainted door handles and mirrors, some are painted i believed it was an option? but all GLi will have colour coded mirrors and door handles.

prices for CXi and GLi dont vary a great deal. personally, i think GLi would b a better base to start modding.

yeh cxi isnt worth it ... if ur gona do engine swap or modify it in future.. it may be more of a hassle cus you may need to upgrade brakes? and if better to get a older model if ur gona engine swap it so u have more options wen choosing ur engine as i dont think u can engineer an older engine into a new chasis i.e 99 ek1 ? hope that helps

series 2 EK's are far better imo. i prefer the 99-00 EK GLi's over the 96-98 any day
