hi guys im new to ozhonda and ive got a small question to ask...
when i got my car about 3 weeks ago.. there was a really bad rattle from the rear of the exhuast system.. i asked the previous owner about it and he said it was the xforce twin loop muffler that was rattling.. so i went and ordered a brand new xforce twinloop muffler and got that put on the car, at the start all was well no rattles at all.. but now one week later its rattling like it used to :( ... biggest waste of cash..
anyway.. there are metal plates with foam shit underneath them that are acting as heat shields? i believe these maybe casuing the rattle and not the mufflers!:(
my question is do the exhuast systems need to have heat shields between the cars underbody and the exhuast pipe???
thanks:thumbsup:

around the area where the muffler is, is there anything that would be damaged by heat?

you maybe able to diagnose the rattling by checking if there is anything sitting too close to each other.

i think you should have checked that the muffler clears everything 1st b4 you replaced the muffler

i took it to the mechanic today and he said the heat shield is too close to the muffler and thats causing it to rattle.. so have to rip out the head shield from underneath and hopefully that stops it =D
thanks

i had rattle too with xforce twin loop. For me, it was due to the swaybar being too closed to the piping which when they expand, cause it to rattle against the swaybar. My car is EK4. Also, with coilovers lowering my car, i definitely have to get some piping work done. Haha. So i advise u to bring ur car to a gd exhaust shop and they will noe wat to do..

Hey mate, maybe next time take it straight to the exhuast shop.. would save heaps more money, possibly sell one of the xforce mufflers.
