View Full Version : ALLMTR update...

ALLMTR

Just thought I'd update you guys on what is going on with ALLMTR. The Civic has been sold to a guy in QLD and I have just finished making a full size cardboard model of the Moke. It looks like it will be around 200kg's lighter than the Civic.

As for the motor, I'm off to the States next month to discuss the options with a few friends. I'm getting my Visa card extended prior to the trip

I'm starting to make the Moke now, so if anyone knows of a Moke front cut that no-one wants, let me know

forgive my ignorance but what is a moke?

it is a mini chi.... is this ALLTMR project inspired from your newer model mini?

Setanta

lol - it's not even a mini - imagine a mini clubman with a bonnet, floor, 4 seats and a rollcage :D Vinal roof, no doors or walls to it ;)

Good luck with your gear hunting in the US...

Serious? Next he will be strapping a k20 to his back and running down the 1/4 mile?

all i can say is power to weight.... if the moke is 200kg lighter than the civic and his goal is breaking the fastest FWD NA record, then what else would you suggest.

ALLMTR
18-08-2004, 06:23 AM
Too many people build their cars for "respect". I want the fastest FWD street car on the planet....this will do it. 200kg less and nearly twice the power :D

no. i'll think how stupid he looks in such a small, feble car, which could be crushed by getting rear ended by a motorcycle. ALLMTR is a street car, the guted civic was pushing it, this is just  wouldnt be caught dead taking my gf around in it.

if its got double the power, and there is some ingenuinity and creativity gone into the build. thenm i can repesct that.

ps. i have respect for TJM-555. sure its turbo, but its daily driven & practical.

ALLMTR

Sorry I won't get your respect. I'm into drag racing, so I'll have to stick with the feble car.

A while ago I posted a thread in the lounge about attitudes on these forums and how they detract from the sense of community. I think this thread and the egos involved has just demonstrated this to a T.

Chuck has built and raced a 12 second all-motor Civic largely through his own ingenuity and cops bullshit like this.

I think a lot of people here need to get their egos under control. I can't believe this crap is being said.

Weq: you have my respect for what you have done with your car, but you are way out of line here. If you had any real knowledge of Chuck's 3G and even knew him then you would realise that the Civic wasn't a daily-driver - it was a strip car that was road-registered. What the hell makes you think that he would take chances with other people's lives.

I'm still shaking my head at this bullshit =(

This sounds like a great project.
My gf has a 1974 mini clubman and i love scooting around in it.
Nothing quite like it, a much purer driving experience than my civic.
Its no slouch either at 600kg with a slightly modded 1.1L its a ripper to drive.
It makes you really think if you need all that sound deadening and other luxuries.

Maybe weq you feel intimidated by the moke?
Anyway you should respect the engineering that goes into such a car, not just dis it cause it wont be rolling on 20" chromies with a phat exhaust.

But that would be cool.

 hahah thats what the S2000 and DC2R drivers were probably thinking when u beat em hehehehehe :) ... its easy to look at what U've done to ur car and bag it out - looks crap, handles crap, but u gotta give credit where credit is due..... u set a goal with ur car and achieved it, well done...... so did chuck, a much more challenging goal at that, so yeh.. :thumbdwn: with the negativity.

nice try Bizee - but some of us are older than a '74 Civic.

You know Chuck - I suggested the 1G a while back to you and you muttered something about wheelbase and how it wouldn't be a good strip car... :D:D:D

No fair that you found a '74 and I still can't find a reasonably priced '77 ;)

Good luck with it mate - I'd love to see if a K24 drops in... and the suspension work needed for the change in weight at the nose :) Might give me some ideas :)

ALLMTR
03-09-2004, 03:06 PM
Unfortunately this aint a "bolt in" mount kind of conversion. Quite a bit of modification just to get motor and box in there.
Yeah wheelbase is an issue but it should run good MPH hehehe
HOPEFULLY have some photos of the motor in situ next week

Chuck - try and track down a '78 or '79 front - the bonnet has better ventilation and the bonnet mount structure is more angled - might give you a few more cms to work with ;)

i'll give ya a hug pornstar, but, what was it you drive again ?? ;)

FYI, not sure of the accuracy, but the 0-60mph & 1/4 mile time of a 1974 Honda Civic is 15.7sec & 18.5sec respectively.
That's shouure to drop! :)

0-60 is wayyyyy out. My old '73 1170cc was about 12sec and a later 1226cc was 11 sec to 100km/h - in stock trim. My twin Dell 'Orto, mugen R1 cam, 73mm bore pistons, EN1 crank stroked EB2 motor with EN1 head pulled low 8s to 100 on a city turbo 5 speed... that is, after I went through 2 cracked heads from shaving it too much :D

Then again, I used to rev the crap out of those motors - damn they took some punishment.

BTW - the civic in the pic is a USDM Civic 1200 or Civic 1500 CVCC motor - the head was crap compared to the crossflow heads we got - it was one of the first changes Oscar Jackson made to his SBCs, going to a Canadian head instead of the USDM one. That's prolly why the figures are out on the 60mph figure. It always blew me away that a stock 1200 was quicker than a stock 1500... 1500s had cast iron blocks and no crossflow as I recollect though, the 1200 was an all alloy crossflow motor.

McChooks using logic and given the wealth of knowledge his family has on the 1G it's understandable 'cause the engine bay will take a SOHC 1500 or 1600, but are severely lacking in space for anything else... but knowing Chuck anything's possible. I'm going to reserve judgement and follow this one closely... I'd love to see him do it :)

but are severely lacking in space for anything else... but knowing Chuck anything's possible

anything is possible with an angle grinder and some determination...

but i have heard chuck say the engine and gbox are actually in the car, so he may even be past this simple stage of getting it 'to fit'

Sorry, That was dad's comment

Something to do with - its too long, and the flywheel would be over the wheel

Love to see it, but I kinda agree - I don't think it will fit

Im not laughing at all Dave...Im very much hoping Chuck keeps the sense, runs this k24 non-vtec and some nice side mounted carbs...i know of a few US boys blowing up d's as we speak - but pulling quite nice numbers in the process :) If u talk to Chuck before he leaves ( left already ?!?) get him to say hi to Bizi and Will navaro :D

The K shall be thumping for sure :)

Will it be rev limited at all though ?
And...the carb idea - I "ALMOST" brought a twin mikuni setup from a friend in the US - ready for my d16a8 - but after asking the RTA this idea was deemed illegal for a EFI engien to be backward converted into mechanical injection(well , they told me) - so what for Chucks "streeter" gen 1 ? Woudl it past ADR's ? Would it pass SMOG tests ?Being carbed, would it run in a different class?

*too many questions...Chuck answer !*

I used to own a Jackson Racing header for the 1G Civic EB motor. Fully tuned by Bassini, it was a 4-1 setup... it actually came out through space below the grille of the 1G Civic and then wrapped under the car - basically over and under the front crossmember. Sold them to McChooks dad - if he still has them, I want to buy them back ;)
