ey guys,
i am curious to know what the average/normal rpm should be when doing 100km in 5th gear on a b series box. My car stays on about 3800/3900RPM, and that seems to be very high, is that normal?
Also could that mean that my gearbox was previously changed with higher ratio gears or something
thanks

which b series box are you using? I'm using a b16a box, and it will be higher rpm slightly to my b18c vtir box before due to shorter ratio

it should be around 3200

b series boxes are 4.4 FD
the 4.78 FD boxes are from the DC2R 98+ spec boxes
u can get after market FD too
is there a bar code on the box u can check the code to determine what box it is

thanks for that man, so its either a
JDM 96-97 Integra R (LSD)
JDM Civic R [EK9] (LSD)
JDM Civic SiR [EK4, EG6] (optional LSD)
is there any obvious ways of telling if its LSD or not?

your a nub
my dc2r aust spec with 4.785 FD and 195/55R15 tyres revs is 3450rpm at 100km/h. Mind you that's indicated 100km/h on speedo so true speed prob more like 95-96km/h. Indicated revs could vary up to 200rpm also.
my guess is you have a b series box with 0.85 5th gear and someone replaced the FD with a 4.785 or 4.9 FD.
make a bit of difference too with your tyre size.
