Recently I finished cleaning up a H22A1 for the drop in to my EG Civic, and would just like to know which torque damper I could use for it. I'm guessing the Civic one, but still not too sure. Anyone know which one will fit??

Cheers!:wave:

ummm unless some company has made a custom one for h22a in a EG then i would say NO.

A civic one wouldnt fit bc the differing engine dimensions.

You'll need a custom made one.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and better to get some stronger engine mounts? A custom damper would end up being pretty pricey if Spoon items are $170-200.

The ones off ebay will fit,you just need to fab up some brakets for it.

So I can pretty much buy any of the dampers, discard the brackets (keep the fasteners though) and make up some brackets myself? So that goes for the DOHC AND SOHC dampers I'm guessing since they're all the same thing with different brackets right?

Yes exactly.Keep the brackets they just may work though but if not more than likely just fab up a couple.
But ES engine mount inserts>Torque damper.So you never need them.Only if you have bad wheel hop,it will be a quick fix until you put the ES inserts in.
NRG ftw
Ignalls=Expensive

Well I've got the avid racing mounts for the car with stiff bushings so hopefully that will help with the wheel hop a bit. I had a look at the NRG ones and they seem fine to use. Ingalls...wow, pricey like you said :O . Thanks a heap Beeza for the info. I'll look in to the ES insert kits if things don't go too well with the damper. :wave:

Thanks again to everyone esp. Beeza for your help.

Nice, at least I'll have a vague idea of where it'll sit. Nice engine bay btw, looks sweet as! :D
