Hi everybody

I was searching through the forums for lowering a jazz and found that all threads were at least 2 years old, so I decided to start another one. Currently I've got an '07 Thai built jazz VTi, and looking to lower it.

I've noticed that many are opting for king springs, however I've heard that they are known to 'sag' after time. This makes me question the quality of the springs, as i've been quoted ~$400 fitted and installed at various places.

Then there's the spoon progressive and tein lowering springs from japan. I've heard that these are better but would like to hear from others.

If i wanted to make the jazz a more fun car to drive, and the ocassional track day, which setups would be better? Price wise I'm not too concerned, more after quality than taking short cuts.

So anybody with lowering springs or coilover stories they want to share?

Have you looked at coils?

Also if your changing springs you should also look at changing your shocks at the time or in the near future when you install the springs.

i have H&R springs atm which i'm really happy with, but it still isn't as good as coilovers. If u intend to keep ur car for some time just bite the bullet & fork out for the coils. They are alot better :) But that being said a decent spring from jp or europe will go a long way as well.

I've decided to get Tein's Super Compact coilovers. Just looking around for prices.

Does anyone have any places they recommend to have coilovers installed?

I read Dedy or Touge Tune are quite decent but I wondering if there's more around Sydney.

so how was this updated???

Just get kings. Its a jazz, not a track car. You dont need coilovers.

Usually the reason they sag is cos the person blown a shock after using lowered springs on a standard shock. Though, depending on the car, this may take a few years..

Also who cares if it sags and gets lower.... dont u want a lower car?

Sounds to me like someone who has never driven a Jazz with coilovers....

of course it matters. if your lowering it and it comprimises your ride quality, then why the hell would you want to lower it then. coz its only gonna need more work later on when half the suspension is worn and you spin off somewhere

Why do you think 4WD's and most "family" cars have such good ride quality... becuase they have ALOT of suspension travel. If you lower a car, expect to have a more bumpy ride/worse ride quality... there is no 2 ways about it.

Sounds to me like someone is trying to make out a Jazz into something its not... If honda Intended the Jazz to be a track monster... they would have put a "decent" engine in it.

i normally cbf replying to forumer like u. just felt like it today.

non jazz owners coming into jazz forum and posting such a comment is really not necessary. wats more, this kind of issues have came up before, really through wth this.

in no way did jayesse implied that honda intended the jazz to b a track monster. his reply implied that there 'would' be a noticable difference between springs/stock shock and coilovers interms of handling.
