6K is quite good for general night driving as it is pure white with a very light tinge of blue while 8K is more blue.
8K will suck when it comes to night time driving in the rain coz u dont really see much
ive got 6K and they do me fine ^_^

IMHO 6k if you want good light for looks and driving and 8k if your too cool for school. I dont think it lights up much at all.

have to remember guys, its the colour temperature that is the rating, not amount of light it outputs
factory kits are 4300k which are ideal for high illumination, 5000k is acceptable and 6000k if you want that little blue tinge, 8000k is just useless bling

Have you guys actually had 8000k and driven with it with proper projectors in the rain & at night?

8000K if you want to get pulled over
6000K if u wanna stay on the road

i would much prefer having 6000 as it is whiter, but i guess its user preference. imo go the 6000 to be safe :)

well 6000k vs 8000k is a common asked question...
liked stated before the amount k is the temperature rating...
so as for being pulled over that is just gonna be the same risk...
APPILO installed mine so heres some pics which might help you...

from your avator seems you have a DC2... But pls remember these projectors are not designed for HID as well...

as some would say... all aftermkt HID kits are illegal unless you have washers and auto leveling...

However by using 6K will get you less trouble from the guys in blue... and it definitely gives you better range of light output... just my 2c...

ive had both 8k and 6k hids at first i got the 8k because i thought it would look nice and you know what it did, but i dont have really good eyes so in the rain it sucked like crap. so i sold my kit and got a 6k kit to tell you the truth its alot clearer (not brighter) and its at least 2 times better in the rain so i stuck with the 6k. well thats my 2 cents

depends what you need,
if you need pure vision, go for the 4300k
a better looking with average vision go for the 6000k
cool looking with lesser vision go for the 8000k.

if you want attraction, go for the 3000k, ---- give best performance at rain/fog day!!!! coz there is rare people will put a 3000k in their Lo beam, and it will turns out gold color, and when i had it on my Lo beam, people are keep looking at it, and too many blue/white light out there already, hardly will see a gold color light.

i had all 3 kit installed in my car.

the K (color) rating and the LM (light output) rating is the opposite, Higher K = lower LM

unsure about that, i just had it on my Lo beam for few days, than i took it off, coz is too bright and blinding oncoming traffic.

yellow light can only be used under foggy or low visibilty situations (ie: heavy rain) other than that, its illegal... so if you had 3k as your low beams, yes itd be illegal because you no longer have low beams, ud have "fog lights"
