not sure how much you would be willing to spend, but it might get messy, and it might end up being cheaper if you bought the turbo-motor kit from fjt on www.onecamonly.com and then bought an ebay turbo kit. that would probably produce more power for the same amount of money.

yeah i dont really wanna turbo it though... prefer to go fuel injected.. and vtec

with sohc motors, there really isnt much to gain with vtec. you could gain more power by fitting a $300 high compression all motor kit from fjt on www.onecamonly.com, then fitting his $600 complete high revving valvetrain kit, and then maybe bisimoto stage 2 camshafts with adjustable cam gears. then if you tweak the keihin cv carbs, you'll probably end up gaining more power for less than a carb non-vtec to efi vtec conversion, and it will be more useable power on demand at any time without having to wait for vtec to kick in. heck, dependig on how much some people charge you for the efi vtec conversion, you could probably throw in quad carbs too and make 150+whp.

yeah dude only prob is... i just snapped my timing belt.. and most prob ****ed the valves in my head aye... like bent them..

the fjt distributors all motor kit includes a new timing belt, and the kms complete valvetrain package includes new valves capable of handling 10000rpm, so you can kill two birds with one stone.

hey is this sites packs and stuff.. are they from the u.s ?? im pretty keen on them now haha

yeah, theyre from the US. but they do ship to australia. i've currently got their all motor kit sitting in my room and im waiting for the kms complete valvetrain to arrive. shipping isnt too expensive either. shipping was 54 for the all motor kit to australia, and around 100 for the complete valvetrain kit to be shipped over (cost me less than shipping strut braces from ebay).

i sound like a promo chick, but its easier to buy these parts and gain a kick ass power and response boost, especially since theyre so readily available, whereas with a vtec head conversion, you have to search around for a head in good condition, and still try to find the conversion kit. plus, most vtec heads are efi only, and its really messy converting from carbs to efi.

ok what about the prices ?? much diff from they're prices ?? like much more ?? how much they all cost ya all up ??

SeverAMV

didnt cost me much because i converted my money ages ago when the australian dollar was worth 92 us cents, so it only cost me like 380-400-ish AU to buy and ship the all motor package. complete valvetrain is costing me around 750-800-ish as its a heavier package and i opted for the kit with the blockguard as an extra precaution (50 bucks for a blockguard is pretty darn good).

yeah true that... so what power u reckon u'd get just putting all that stuff in ?? without cams etc.

SeverAMV

im not too sure about power figures, it all depends on how well you get it tuned. im just expecting around 70-100fwkw once i get my cams and quad carb setup in. altho the US figures make me expect more, im not really planning on revving it any higher than the factory 6750rpm as my car is still a daily driver and i'd like to be able to tap into my power band on demand without having to wait. if you're willing to tune it for higher revs, at say 9000rpm, and get it tuned properly so it can make power at that range, expect more power than im expecting. im just not too sure about my gearbox either so i wont push it to that high, plus, i'd rather not have a monster tacho in my sleeper.

lol yeah true that.. man still un-sure.. i want to... but i dont ?? haha what u mean tuning it ?? and i guess it'd be good..

with the quad carbs, i need to figure out which jets i'll need to run, which cam timing i'll need to set it at, which ignition timing to run and which temperature sparkies i may need, only because im going all out a little. but most likely you'll only really need to get the jets cleaned out, and the carbs tweaked a little, since youre sticking with the factory carbs?

yeah i was... lol i dunno :S haha i should read up on this shit.. i was gonna vtec head.. then quad throttles.. or somethin.. i dunno though...i just want the vtec sound lol...

SeverAMV

haha, i just like the sound of my carbs at full throttle, its a nice sound.
plus from what i've heard, to get a decent vtec head, you'll need to convert to efi, and thats just a whole bunch of dramas. and theres not much power to gain from sohc vtec, sohc vtec is only good for your fuel wallet, not much else. its nothing compared to a dohc vtec roar.

yeah, i've got a 2 inch system with a cannon and an apexi n1 style silencer to improve the bottom end and midrange response. plus i did the baking tray mod a long time ago so i can hear my carbs scream a lot.

my car's just plain blue. havent really got any pics of my engine bay either. i painted my wheels black, and aaa exhaust painted my exhaust black to match my carbon fibre cannon, and they did it free of charge as well. for the most part, my car is a sleeper.

haha, my car fits into the crowd unless you know what you're looking for. altho some ED/EF fans have complimented me on my car, they drove off after finding out i was tuning a carburetor powered ED. it was fun chasing them down, heh
