well i've tried searching but i havent had much luck.
I'm looking to buy an exhuast system, and found that most brands are 1k+
I'm now currently looking into getting one made. i'm not expecting to get the same quality as say bc or something, but from your experiences, do you guys know how much it would roughly cost?
I'm going to enquire about it tomorrow, but i just wanted to know some info so i got a fundemental to work on. Well i know the stock system is 54mm, then spilts into 42.7mm, does anyone know the common size of an aftermarket system?
And should i be asking them to make it with a certain type of material? Also, how much the stock exhuast weigh?

aftermarket ones are usually between 2.5-3inch piping diameter and stainless steel, as for weight not sure and iam not sure if the aftermarket one would be heavier or lighter either i dont know shit about metals ;)

after market ones will be alot better, they'll be lighter and stronger than a custom shop one.
But if thats the way u wanna go then u want a mandrel bent custom one, stainless steel will last u about 6 years i have been told while the mild steel will last u half that time but but slightly cheaper obviously.
as for cost i wouldn't know but alot of ppl here would tell u that if u want a quality cat-back (aftermarket) it should cost around the 1K mark as if u wanna up grade u wanna do it right the first time if u wish to spare urself alot of pain, money and head ache.
but yea, there is actually alot of stuff in regards to exhausts, quite a hot topic if u ask me. never gets old. Search harder and not euro specific but just exhausts in general and u'll find alot more stuff that way cuz i guess not as many ppl upgrade their euros as compared to say integras and or civics which are the more typical car.

Aftermarket brand ( fujitsubo etc )their piping diameter are pretty much 60mm.
I havent seen any brand who manufactured 3 inch catback for accord euro.

hey guys, thanks for the help, I've actually settled on an exuast.
I'm getting a custom made one from the resonator back, i've decided on eliminating the res alltogether so i'm just going to have 2.5" all the way through to the muffler. I have put consideration into eliminating the res and it's what i want so please dont flame me.
Cost + labor is $790. I personally think it's a fair price.
Please tell me what you think about my choice? Iam a noob so please enlighten me on anything!
thanks.

i did straight thru 2.25inch from cat to stock rear mufflers... cost me $160... it sounded gay! really high pitched whine :( so i had a hotdog resonator put in (theyre straight thru, basically no back pressure) that cut alot of the high pitched gargle out... but now i have TODA headers it sounds extremely shit! im currently looking for replacement rear mufflers, i want a nice low deep rumble...

Yeah, i'm hoping that the muffler that i've chosen will eliminate most of the high picthed sound, If it doesnt sound nice then i'll prob just get the stock res put back on.
$160, that's really cheap! where'd you get it done? how was the end result? what material was used? was this just the piping, or was that price including the 2 muflers?

Really? I'm planning to get a cat back system next year but I don't want it to sound crappy. Can you describe what it sounds like now? There's a muffler/exhaust called "FOX" you can find on youtube and it sounds good but I don't know where to get it from.

yeah, when i was using stock headers, it basically sounded completely stock except for when revving above 4000rpm, then it was just alot louder... but now, with the combination of the toda headers and stock rear mufflers, it sounds really high pitched/crappy old shitbox kind of sound... im trying to find someone/where that sells the tannabe medallion/touring mufflers on there own... i think they sound pretty nice... exspecially at cruising speeds
EDIT:
i just listened to the FOX exhaust... mmmmm thats the sound i want!! thats perfect for me :D

theyre german :( so website is hard to use...
i think this is the catback system:
http://fox.he-webpack.de/shop/product_info.php?pName=honda-accord-viii-cl7-rear-silencer-rightleft-1x100-type-17-rightleft-p-2458
its a 2.5inch system, think it uses tri-flow mufflers...

Ah I see what you mean. I've read in other places that headers can change the sound of the exhaust tone too.
I've got to find a way to get them into Australia cause if it sounds like the youtube vid it will be an awesome system to get.
The Tanabe Medallion looks like a great system too and it's also a good sounding exhaust.
