Japanese Exedy kit is $360... (sports organic kit)
Includes pressure plate, clutch disc, release bearing & spigot bearing.
Fitted price is $660

Btw... 400~500hp... No chance...
Try 250~300hp absolute max

I believe it's a little more than "$660 fitted".

Because when I was quoted for my Exedy Organic from Adrian/Advan, I was quoted the same - "$660 fully installed" (maximum $750 if bearings needed replacement), but when I went to pick it up, the price jumped to over $800, because of GST and I was charged also for gearbox oil.

I didn't think about this till afterwards, but Adrian, I took "$660 installed" (which I confirmed via PM a few times) to mean "fully fitted and installed, with GST and any other duties involved". Also, I imagined gearbox oil changed during the installation, just like the use of a wrench/airgun to remove items for instance, to be involved in the "fitted" price quote?

P.S: I don't think it's fair to quote a certain price, if the price you pay at the end of the day, for the exact same job, is higher. It's close to false advertising.

quiet unfair..
Cant charge extra as inital quote dudnt include oil and etc.
What bearing could cost $100 . the pilot bearing cost like $5. and there is no other bearing involved in a clutch swap

from what i know (which may not be much) i think quotes must be inclusive of GST... if im wrong, shoot me.. ehhe

pilot6 bearing cost me $10 from a clutch shop, release bearing came in the clutch kit, i think i paid $380~. gerbox oi, 2 bottle from honda = $25. Then add on any flyuwheel machining
Do the install urself and spend that $350 on a new ACT Streetlite or Prolite flywheel :)

ps. jonny, thats dodgy as.

good point. you have to be clear before the job is done. make sure there will be no hidden cost. make them call you if any extra's arise.

There is a place in Adelaide "Adelaide Exchange Jewellery" who advertises on TV 9ct gold at $16 per gram, when you get down there the price is advertised w/out GST so you pay $17.60 per gram.

I know a lot of small business does quote prices w/out GST, and by law they are aloud to but they should quote $600 + GST or $660 GST inclusive.

I think they can by law advertise $600 and the onus is on you to ask...

Is that including GST?

Yea i was quoted $350 for the Exeddy H.Duty clutch...
Beacuse i was gettin synchros and bearings done on my g.box at the time the extra labour fee to install a new clutch was $0...

However, the reason I wanted a new clutch was because I was told by *experts* when they drove my car my clutch life was 1-2 months, so i thought feRk! ill change it while the g.box is out.

Then I asked Graham at Ward While Motors here in melb how much life the clutch has left and he informed me it was BRAND new.. like... seriously brand new..
I had my car for about a month or two, so the previous owner of the car before it was a 1/2 cut must have just replaced the clutch..
Also Pedders are rip off kants too! My mates prelude was making a rough sound when hard breaking was applied, he took it to them they made a list of things..
LCAs gone, CV joints gone (which he had reaplced the month before), Brushings gone etc etc..giving him a bill totalled up to nearly 500$.. and letting him drive away with a not only unroadworthy car but a highly dangerous car to both himself and others on the road..
He then took the car to Graham, and the only probablem was a screw and a bolt had gone loose within the front brushing and Graham fixed it up for 9$..

The point of my long winded story is alot of business (Especially Mechanics) like to overcharge and screw you around... becareful =)

That's expensive for gold!
Unless it is already worked into links/chains etc. then it is actually good price.

If not and it is just gold as is ie. nuggets/bullion its exxy.....
17.60 X 31 grams ounce = $545
Current gold price... around the $400/ ounce mark.

CivicSedanMan

Yea that is the price for pieces of jewllery links/chains etc..

Specialy when shiels, zamels and all those other rip off p$#@s will charge you anywhere from $30-$50 a gram of 9ct.

Any way i think we are a bit off topic :)
