A few weeks ago we decided to build another B20/Vtec. Working with Dynodave we have built another simple combo.

Here is whats done:

Bottomend

84mm RS Machine Pistons
STD rods notched for ITR/GSR bearings
ARP Rod bolts
ACL Race (http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1555476&page=19#) bearings
Micropolished Crank
Block line honed with ITR/GSR main cap girdle
ITR pickup and sump
OEM seals & gaskets
PR3 Cyl Head
Ported by Dynodave
Full Supertech valve train (http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1555476&page=19#) inc flat faced valves
Rocket Motorsports Valve Job
Rocket M22X Cams
CROME Tunable ECU *base tuned*

Intake
Skunk 2 manifold *ported out to 68mm, ported runner by dynodave*
68mm Throttle body
15' Intake with blox 6' air filter/velocity stack

Exhaust
4-2-1 Toda racing headers
2.5' straight thru exhaust

Motor has driven 20km then off onto dyno to get tune. Quick tune it made 148kw atw. So who said aussies can't build b20/vtec? Still
need to do cam timing as its off. Looking at around 150-155kw atw.

*We "break-in" the engine on the dyno*

Dyno graphs will be up with the final tune is done.

BIG thanks to DYNODAVE for tuning/building and compling this motor package together. Also thanks to Scott at Insight motorsport for helping out on the dyno:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Off to 1/4mile very soon. Times will be posted.

So beware K swap cars!!:honda::honda::honda:*motor is sold to a lucky Queenslander*

SPEEDCORE

Rocket Motorsports is US based honda aftermarket parts/tuning/ also development from memory.

Rocket Industries is just an Australian based automotive parts distributor, rather large one at that.

You could always upgrade:thumbsup:

We pushed it to 8800rpm on the dyno. Why does it rev that high? Cause it still making power.

rev's to 8800rpm.

Quater mile time in 2 weeks.

Hope it does well, also you running oversized valves or standard.
8800 is pushing it on standard block,
i think you getting the extra power through the TODA header and straight through exhaust with no cat, what brand exhaust

Benson
20-12-2007, 06:59 PM
TODA headers are good so far. As for exhaust, its all legal with a 3inch CAT and 2 inline resonator. Exhaust was custom made from Hakan @ Performance Exhaust, they did an good job on it

All standard size valves.

standard valve. 8800 is on its limit, but if it built properly then i don't see any issues with it. We finding toda headers are too small for the b20 setup's, need some big tube ones.

What diameter are the Toda headers? Are they stepped?

fatboyz39
21-12-2007, 09:36 AM
yes there steeped. No idea on dimensions.
