well my seat belts doesn't retract... but then again my seat belts are twisted....could it be twisted inside???
to fix a twisted seat belt hafta open up the pannel there aye...???
sorry for stealing ur thread MrPlow
taking the plastic panel off that covers the seatbelt isnt hard. just slide the panel up and out. as for the retension, the gear might be getting on.. dunno how much these things go for 2nd hand, might try a wreaker?

try cleaning the guide on the B pillar they useualy build up grime under where the belt runs and stops the belt a little. also the spring can fail in the belt mechanism so you have to replace them.
you gotta be careful, cos it is a defectable item, which is fair enough cos its a safety issue

Easiest to buy them new, not from a wrecker. You don't know what condition the car was in that it came out of - if it was crashed then the belt has prolly stretched and is fubar. I know it's expensive to get new - but how much is your life worth?
Besides - I think it's illegal for wreckers to sell them second hand.
