hey guys, well i started a thread earlier in the week asking for advice, I just wanted to say thanks and here is the result.
My aim was to achieve a deep yet quiet grumble along with performance gains and a more aggressive apperance. It's basically just 2.5" all the way through with stainless steel. I orignally deleted the res but it was WAY too loud, I'm talking about the typical honda annoying loud. so i decided to just put a hot dog on.
here are some pics i took while we had it on the hoist.
from the resonator back

from the spilt

test fitting mufflers

thanks again for the advice. Please leave any further advice and opinions!

Thanks for posting that. Looks pretty good to me. Do you have any sound clips? Have you got a shot of it directly from the back?

how much did it set you back? and how long did it take to be done?

Love the twin tips. I had twin tips on my lancer, much better than the usual canons.
So the new system is full (cept for headers). So it goes Headers -> flex -> bit of new 2.5" pipe -> cat -> more new pipe -> hotdog -> new pipe to spilt -> mufflers?

no sound clips or shots from the back yet. Weather's been terrible lately so I haven't found the opp to go out and take pics.
All up $900. It took a full day for us because i decided to put the resonator back on.
Yeah i went twin tips just for something different, i havent seen any other euro's with twin tips as yet. they're twin 3". might sound big but it's surprisingly proportional on the car.
Yep that's right, it's; stock headers, flex, 2.5" pipe, cat, 2.5" pipe, hotdog, 2.5" spilt, mufflers.
Thansk for the comments guys!

i find it hard to believe astra has better build quality then civic?!?
ive been in alot of holdens and alot of hondas... honda wins in every field!
and thats not because i own a honda... i used to be worlds biggest holden fan... always wanted a VXII R8... that was until i actually drove one...

the TS and AH astras have far better build then any EG or EK civic
performance wise and reliability they lose though unless you opt for the SRi models or the SRiT (my fav in the TS shape)
not sure about the newer civics as i havent owned on or driven one
im mainly talking about the exterior and interior... everything is just so much more solid and does not creak or rattle... i love it
then again they're far newer cars then a EG...

Had a talk with the guy who owns Hitech mufflers in Sydney yesterday and he reckons changing the exhaust from cat back will yield a 10% increase in the low-mid range! He did a cat back system for the guy that manages Snap-on tools(06 Euro)and offered to do mine for $1600.if i'm not happy with it he'll take it off and give me my money back!!!www.hitechmufflers.com.au
