Hi currenty own a 94 accord with a h22a.

It has stock brakes and sometimes i grind my teeth went coming to a stop. :(

I am not sure on what Type of brakes i should get and i am confussed with it all. I want something that looks good and stops me well. Any suggestions would be great.

id look at changing your pads first up. A decent set of pads will do wonders for stock brakes.
Also properly flush your fluid too :)
If the car still "grinds your teeth" after then look at upgraded setup

There are new pads on there the bigger brakes are the option.

I know you have a H22A in it but I find the stock brakes on my Accord quite powerful but then again they are likely in very good condition which makes a big difference as mentioned.

if bigger pads dont work , get your rotors machined.
You should notice a difference, and combined with new brake pads, should be a good combination for your stopping.

Are they stock ones or a decent set of aftermarket ones?

A cusco brake stopper (if they make one for your car) is a great mod.
Braided brake lines $350 are a good investment too.

Do you have any excessive free play in the pedal, or do you have any inconsistent free play, i.e. somtimes the pedal is firm and hardly moves and the brakes feel strong, but other times there is more free play and they don't feel so strong?

If so, then you may have an internal leak inside the master cylinder that allows pressure from one of the two cylinders inside the master cylinder to leak past the seal, either into the other cylinder or back into the reseviour. This will mean less pressure in one of the brake lines (i.e. front or rear circuits), and may mean more pressure leaking into the other brake line. At least one of the brake lines will have less pressure than it should, and the brake balance will also be affected. The pedal will be softer and braking performance impaired. In this situation there won't necessarily be any outward signs of leakage and you won't be losing any brake fluid as it just gets 'recycled' internally in the master cylinder.

If so then you might just try a new master cylinder (about $150 - $180 I think?). They can be rebuilt, but apparently these cylinders can be problematic to rebuild.

we don't just mean new pads.
we mean a set of high quality aftermarket pads. The friction material used in the pad and the way it is manufactured have a HUGE difference on the feel of the brakes and the stopping power they provide.
AS a guide in quality from not so good to good -

Considered as standard pads
Burson auto store brand brake pads - lots of dust, not much stopping power, prone to squeal
Bosch - ok stopping, prone to squeal
Bendix general - ok stopping, dusty
Bendix Ultimate - good stopping

Aftermarket higher quality pads Which means higher $$$
EBC
Wilwood
Hawk
Endless
Raybestos

These pads offer much much higher stopping power but can (not necessarily will) squeal, be dusty, not work as well at low temperatures (if you get the hardcore race ones like a lot of people do,which can be quite unsafe on the road), wear quicker.

like most things in cars its a trade off between performance and economy.....but seriously,if your after better brake performance, you will get better rewards from getting aftermarket pads (and maybe some slotted rotors for more benefits and you wanted your brakes to look better) rather then upgrading to a larger set of OEM brakes with OEM pads.

Also take your tyres into account....they are the only thing that actually slows your car down, if you upgrade your brakes you soon find the limit of friction, lock up a $hitload and be forced to fork out more $$ for higher quality tyres

It might be the master cylinder as it does lose a bit of fluid over time I think it is leaking like it has to e topped up a little every 5 months or so.

Will see how things go may get a new master cylender and might upgrade the brakes for looks and better braking. Thanks For the help so far it has been great.

the reservoir will loose a little fluid over time as the pads wear out...the piston at each wheel moves out more to take up the room made by the pad wearing so that the pad is always in contact with the disc....therefore some extra fluid has to go down to each piston to move it out.

Less than a cm per 6 months roughly.

The most common leak that a master cylinder will have can be seen as the brake fluid (which bubbles paint away) runs out the back of the master cylinder and you will see the paint underneath the master cylinder on the brake booster is wet and bubbly and will rust after a while.if this is the case, remove master cylinder, clean booster, paint with any black paint as pretty as you want, install new master cylinder. A worn (not necessarily leaking) master cylinder can give you a spongy pedal,or the pedal can feel hard and as you sit at the lights with foot on pedal it will slowly go spongy
