I've got a 96 Integra DC4. I've been browsing ebayUS a bit lately and I've notice stuff like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-Cam-Gear-Acura-Integra-90-93-94-01-B17-B18-DOHC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33553QQihZ008QQite mZ180196451809QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW) and this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CAMS-CAMSHAFTS-OBX-90-93-94-01-INTEGRA-LS-RS-GS-1-8L_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ36475QQihZ024QQitemZ 370007898845QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW) on there. They say 15-20hp gain and I'm sort of looking to get a bit more power without spending loads just yet.

So what exactly do they do, how much would it cost to install/tune, and are they worth getting?

assuming you have a non vtec motor (b18b) i do not think u have after market cams unless u have them custom made which will cost u quite alot anyway.

convert to Ls vtec. or alternatively u can have custom headers and a exhaust and a cai for good gains, cheap mods.

Okay, what's involved with converting to vtec?

you need b16 or b18c vtec cylinder head
LS VTEC conversion kit
ECU

best bet is the full conversion =\ (b16a, b16b, b18c7)

nah if he has the B18B a LS/vtec is cheaper and will produce more power than the b16a, b16b, b18c7.

Mainly cos you are only buying the head component and a few other LS/vtec kit. WHich i am sure yonas sells. Due to the slightly longer stroke of the b18b, it produces slightly more power than the b18c7.

Have a look at honda-tech.com there are alot of ls/vtec conversions done there with alot of success

The other path is to boost the car

Thanks for the replies guys - I would be looking at a turbo/engine conv. but I'm just not confident there's anyone where I live that could do it properly and offer me some sort of guarantee. I'm still looking at bolt on mods at the moment.

Yeh but you got awful gearing. Remember power is not always the goal. Its the total package

LOL. Its not the bigger bore, its the longer stroke which gives it more torque. You cant rev as high tho. The b18c7 is the superior B- series OEM engine honda develop. Nothing can match it stock for stock
